EBF Celebrates One Year Service To Humanity, Calls For Partnership, Sets 2021 Agenda

Founder and President of a wave making Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the aegies of Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) yesterday the 10th of March 2021 celebrated the foundation’s one year anniversary with critical stakeholders of the lives transforming NGO. 

Ernest Bebenimibo, president of the foundation while hinting The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide on the journey so far within the last one year noted that all glory must be given to the Lord Almighty for making it possible for them to come this far with lots of result oriented programmes. 

As parts of events marking the one year anniversary of the Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF), founder of the NGO asserted that they began the day with praises, worship and thanks to the Lord Almighty among members of the foundation which later ended with refreshment and merriment. 

Addressing the press after the praise and worship session at his wonderfully built ediface in Udu, Ernest Bebenimibo maintained that the foundation is celebrating its one year of active service to humanity. 

The young philanthropist had while recounting what God have done so far within the last one year for the foundation has called on the Delta State Government, other agencies and parastatals, NGOs as well as well meaning individuals to partner with the Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation to reach out to more people living in the creeks of Niger Delta and beyond. 

He continued that reaching out to these particular sets of people is very important as the NGO has been on it within the last one year without any Government support and International supports, adding that if the Government and International bodies partners with them, they can do better and the glory would be for the betterment of society. 

Speaking further, Bebenimibo have on behalf of the foundation unveiled the 2021 Agenda for the NGO, stressing that they are hoping to reach out to more people than 2020, this according to him will be made possible by the Lord Almighty. 

According to Ernest Bebenimibo, president of EBF while speaking about the foundation noted that the NGO is structured in such a way that it has board of directors, board of trustees and heads of various departments. 

He continued that EBF comes into life on the 10th of March 2020 at Okerenkoko in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State with the presentation of over 200 school bags, dozens of notebooks, mathematical sets and writing materials to Okerenkoko primary and secondary school pupils and students to encourage their education. 

The EBF boss noted that during its flag off, the foundation also provided different types of clothes to 105 aged women and widows in Okerenkoko. 

In recounting other achievements within the last one year after the flag off ceremony, Ernest Bebenimibo stated that during the lockdown occasioned by  the novel coronavirus in 2020, the foundation was able to provide breakfast packs for 280 households at Ekete commuity in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. 

He said the foundation distributed 400 face masks to notable areas across Udu, Effurun, Enerhen and other areas in Warri as a preventive measure to curtail the virus, adding that EBF also partners with the Rotary International Club to provide 200 breakfast packs to frontline workers such as  doctors, soldiers, road safety officers in Abuja during the lockdown, noting that the foundation under his watch has also rescued  mother and son by paying for their medical bills at an hospital. 

Other achievements of the foundation according to Ernest Bebenimibo include provision of palliatives to Sandfield II community opposit Warri to about 80 households in May 2021 as well as the relocation of a blind widow to a befiting apartment who had been living in a terrifying condition and provision of monthly foodstuffs to her and her family for their upkeep. 

However, Ernest asserted that their mega project in 2020 was the Street to school programme which cost the foundation seven million naira, adding that 37 riverine communities and 39 secondary and primary schools across Delta riverine communities was reached with notebooks, school bags, mathematical sets and other writing materials. 

Nevertheless, as parts of events marking its one year anniversary, Ernest Bebenimibo yesterday redeemed his monthly foodstuffs to the blind widow in Udu in company of members of the Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation.

He also hinted The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide on plans to storm Orogun community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, hometown of his Excellency, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege to distribute ten thousand notebooks and writing materials to Orogun primary and secondary schools, an exercise he said will begin soon.

On his part, Mr. Ogaga Darlington Osai, Director General of Ernest Bebenimibo Foundation (EBF) while appreciating the Lord Almighty for the journey so far had lauded Mr. Ernest Bebenimibo on his leadership qualities, describing him as God fearing, humble and listening leader. 

He noted that the foundation was able to reach out to over ten thousand people with different demographic groupings but gave his assurance in 2021 that the foundation is hoping to expand its reach more than 2020.

While outlining some of the programmes for this year, Osai noted that the foundation is hoping to embark on EBF Kit-Up back to school programme in which a target of ten thousand students in different riverine communities will be touched with uniforms, sandals and writing materials. 

He noted that the foundation will also look at furnituring of some bad looking class rooms with a view of providing desks and other things as the case may be.

Mr. Darlington opined that while other moves will be made in the service of humanity via the foundation, he asserted that EBF will launch a medical outreach in order to reach out to the aged in the Delta riverine communities. 

In his words: “May the Lord Almighty continue to increase Ernest Bebenimibo, founder and President of EBF financially to execute his good plans towards humanity.” 

Ogaga also highlighted transportation and finance as major challenges rocking the NGO in terms of reaching out to the people since most of their dealings are in the riverine communities of Niger Delta. 

Meanwhile, Ernest Bebenimibo had earlier stated that it would be a grave error if he fails to acknowledge and appreciates personalities that have been supporting EBF financially and otherwise.

Some of such personalities include Hon. George Ekpemupolo ( Chairman board of trustee), Chief Godspower Gbenekama, Amb. John Dekawei, Sir Godfrey Pondi, Hon. (Chief) Simeon Bebenimibo, Chief Jeffrey Ojogun, Chief Azaiye Piniki, Capt. Wilson Aranta, Jimo Ogidah, Sir Victor Tonlagha, Chief Mrs Ebidoumene Ojogun ,  Mrs Preye Jimoh, Hon. Andrew Igban, National Association of Gbaramu Students (NAGS) with the host of others too numerous to mention
