The Egbema Kingdom regency council in Warri North and Ovia South West Local Government Areas of Delta and Edo States has congratulated Hon. Smart Asekutu on his inauguration, describing it as historic and wonderful.

This was contained in a statement signed by Chief Godwin Omokentu Spokesman Regency Council, Egbema Kingdom, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

The regency council had also called on the Warri North Council Chairman, Hon. Smart to see his emergence as a call to service, stressing that he must work to sustain the existing peace and unity among the Ijaws of Egbema and their Itsekiri brothers.

However, the statement had particularly called on Hon. Smart and his team to spread  development across the Local Government Area, adding that Egbema Kingdom had suffered so much in terms of development, adding that he should operate an open door policy.

The statement reads in full below:

Egbema Regency Council congratulates the Newly Elected chairman and his team of noble men and women in the Warri North Local Government Council

The Regency Council of Egbema kingdom whole-heartedly congratulates the newly elected chairman, Hon. Smart Asekutu and his newly elected work force of men and women of the Warri North Local government Council, with a clarion call on them to see their election as a call for service at a very critical time.

The Regency council believes that your emergence as chairman, being the first Egbema son to pilot the affairs of the council happened in a defining moment and unarguably unprecedented, and of course a total overhaul of the age-old narrative in the annals of history in the council of Warri North, hence it prefigures a new dawn of hope and a breath of fresh air to the political space of the Warri North Local Government Area.

We once again, enjoin and charge you and your team to run an “open-door” administration and use your new chapter of life and its highly exalted office to attract development and foster the relative peace and unity between the two ethnic groups (Ijaw and Itsekiri) in the local government Area.

Moreso the task ahead of you is a lot of work, which we believed you have seen the signs, therefore, we call on you to work and hit the ground running for the overall interest of all and sundry in the Local Government, not only the people that voted you into power neither party affiliation.

Once again congratulations and may God Almighty grant you the required wisdom to move the Local government council to enviable heights.

We wish you a more successful tenure.
Long live Warri North Local government!
Long live Delta state!
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Signed: Chief Godwin Omokentu
Spokesman  Regency Council, Egbema Kingdom. 9/03/2021
