A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Hon. Dr. (Evang.) Prince Michael ‘Ejele’ Diden on Friday played host to Stakeholders of the party. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

The meeting which was held in his Koko country home was well attended by the party’s Senatorial excos, PDP Local Government Chairmen as well as Ward and local government women leaders in the zone.

Addressing the guests, Ejele disclosed that  the meeting was originally meant to have only the  women leaders in attendance but after some considerations he decided to invite the Senatorial  Exco and LGA Chairmen to make it all inclusive.

He explained that the purpose of the meeting was to thank the women, the PDP Senatorial Exco and Local Government party Chairmen  for the support they gave him throughout the campaign in the build up  to 2018 Senatorial primaries.

Ejele particularly appealed to the potential delegates ahead of 2023 Delta South Senatorial District election that he is ready to serve, stressing that their support is highly needed.

He noted that the amount of votes he got at the election was very surprising considering the fact that it was his first shot at the  Senatorial position saying “ I never expected up to 50 (fifty) votes but at the end the margin of winning was very small”.

Also speaking, the Delta South Senatorial District Chairman of the party Chief Dr. Julius Takeme (JP)  thanked and appreciated Hon. Michael Diden for his many sacrifices towards the growth and development of the party, describing him as a true party man .

Women leaders of the  three local governments of Bomadi, Burutu and Patani took time to appreciate the host for the honour of recognizing them as key stakeholders of the party.

They promised to continue in their support for Egele and promised to give him even greater support in his future political ambition, but however charged him not to forget the women when he finally gets to “ the promised land”

It would be recalled that the hosting/consultative meeting was done in two phases such as meeting with the local government women leaders in Delta South as well as the ward women leaders before meeting with the main senatorial leadership of the party and some  party Chairmen from the local senatorial district.

Also present at the meeting are; Hon. John Okorolokor, secretary, PDP Delta South,  Hon. Mrs Eunice O. Taylor, Miss Ezonebi Orogun, state executive, Stanley Agbosa, Emmanuel G. Akpule, Odin Peter, George Guoti.

Others are Chief Eda Ekemere, Trophy Kirifegha, William Zuokumor, Ebike Oromoni, Prince Opuofeni, Chief Godspower Asiewhu, Prince G. Ogorugba
