Newly democratically elected and inaugurated Chairman of Burutu Community in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Ekisah Hermann Ebizimor has vowed to use his administration to pursue and bring back the lost glory of Burutu Community. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

Hermann Ekisah made the vow yesterday in Burutu Community Town Hall during his inauguration ceremony, stressing that Burutu Community under his watch will experience uncommon transformation. 

In his welcome address, the Chairman had assured the people of Burutu Community that he is very aware of all the developmental woes confronting the once booming community, adding that his administration will collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the polity to facilitate the much needed development. 

In his words: “It is my great pleasure and honour to welcome you all to this epoch making event marking continuance of governance, the inauguration ceremony of a new executive in this  our great history holding Community. We want to thank God immensely for the smooth and peaceful election/selection process culminating to the transition from one administration to another.

“I wish to thank the resilience and pragmatism of my predecessor Comr. Ebipadeowei Stainless Pondy in the manner he handled issues under his watch and regime some that may have escalated to serious conflict and full blown crises amongst us.

“I wish to thank God and my Senware quarter family for deeming me fit and worthy to take up this mantle of leadership to serve this noble Community as Captain of a seven-man capacity team for the next two years, I shall not let you down by God’s grace. We want to assure you that we shall painstakingly do our best by the grace of God to discharge our functions to the best of our abilities.

“However, this administration shall have as it’s cardinal objectives the following;

“1. Education/ Literacy Advocacy : We shall roll out a literacy advocacy program that shall cover adults (men/women) so that they can be able to read and write, and  to complement the teachers efforts in the  classroom towards their children.

“2. Security/Peace : We shall strengthen our security apparatus by giving them necessary support to ensure they carry out their functions effectively. This can only be achieved through collaboration between all security outfits. We must know however that we all our security personnel as well.

“3. Women Association: Over the years  our women/ mothers have not been properly recognized and co-ordinated to take their  pride of place in the society hence, we shall work acciduosly through consultation to establish the women association which shall have a collective voice that will support the community vat all point in time.

“We shall amongst other functions try to establish justice, equity and fair-play amongst us both indegenes and non-indegenes.

“We want to assure you that you all have a special stake in this administration as regards to Community governance as your opinions, ideas, suggestions and positive contributions shall be taken seriously to help lead our dear Community forward and progressive and as such your prayers for our success is highly solicited.

“We sincerely thank and appreciate the efforts of all those who believe in this team and supported us in one way or the other through prayers, financial assistance and moral support, we pray that God will richly bless you all in million folds, Amen.

“Once again, we thank you for honouring us with your revered presence despite your busy schedules especially on a Monday like this, we wish you all journey mercy back to your various destinations in Jesus name, Amen.”

Earlier in his remark, the immediate past Chairman of Burutu Community, Comr. Pondy Ebipadewei Stainless appreciated the people of Burutu community for the opportunity given to him as Chairman of the Community, adding that he will continue to owe them in high esteem. 

Nevertheless, Comr. Pondy used the opportunity to reel out some legacies of his administration, ranging from committing the community into the hands of God, revival of moribund projects, influencing of both political and civil service appointments, push for infrastructural development, preaching of peace and unity via a peace summit among other achievements. 

Comr. Ebipadewei Pondy also lauded Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives for remembering Burutu with a modern community Town Hall, well equipped and fully furnished, adding that as a son of Burutu they are proud of him and will always owe him in high esteem. 

Meanwhile, the duo of Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State and Sir Tom Willy Ebiakpo, Chairman of the occasion represented by Dr. Comr. Doubra Collins Okotete, Chairman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Western Zone have all called for the sustenance of peace, love and unity among the people of Burutu community. 

They particularly declared their total supports for the Hermann Ekisah led Burutu Community Exco, stressing that the community has always been a peaceful community. 

The duo while expressing optimism on the Hermann Ekisah led administration had charged him to be productive in his leadership of the community. 

At the reception, an Ijaw music luminary, Bestman May, popularly known as Best May entertained dignitaries with magnificent and scintillating songs. 

The event was well attended by a lot of dignitaries from various Ijaw Kingdoms and personalities across Delta State and beyond.
