A group housing all Ijaw born human rights activists in Delta State operating under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC) have while showing solidarity to the fallen heroes of the #EndSARS victims at the lekki tollgate in Lagos described Nigeria as a nation full of impunity.

This was contained in a statement personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri earlier today by the President general of the Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC), Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

The President had while adding his voice on behalf of all members of the group had asserted that with the killing of youths at the Lekki tollgate, Lagos in 2020 while demanding for a decent and responsible country by the military without any punishment meted out on those behind the gruesome and deliberate murder of the innocent protesters shows that Nigeria is a nation that has no place for the common man.

The DICC president regrreted that the many woes that had bedevilled the country that occasioned the massive protest by Nigerian Youths leading to the death of some of us are still very much manifesting in the Nigerian federation in a larger scale.

Speaking further, Princewill while describing Nigeria as a nation that never learns stressed that if what happened in Nigeria 2020 via the #EndSARS protest where to happened in other civilised countries, authorities in those country would have taken corrections by looking at the issues that necessitated the protest in the first place in order to work out modalities to prevent such in the future.

Binebai opined that such will never happen in Nigeria as what authorities would do is to find a way to victimize those that are crying out for a better Nigerian state where human rights and democratic principles are of no use.

However, the DICC President stated that Nigerian leaders must not deceived themselves that the country is progressing, stressing that Nigeria is rather on the speed lane of retrogression.

In his words “Most of the things happening in Nigeria can only happen in the animal kingdom where there is no law and order, our laws must not be seen as being pro-rich and anti-poor. Boko Haram, Herdsmen, Bandits and all forms of insecurity are on the rise. Nigerian troops that can just finish innocent protesters without thinking twice are there while these group of terrorists continue to wreck unprecedented havoc in the country.

“May the gentle souls of the fallen heroes continue to rest in peace. We will always remember your bravery and sacrifice, one day, we are hopeful that we will get it right. What is a nation without freedom of speech”.
