A group comprising all human rights activists, studen leaders, some media personnel and leaders of various socio-cultural groups in Delta State have thrown their weight behind the ultimatum issued by Niger Delta most dreadful former warlord, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo on his 7 days ultimatum.

The group under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC) made their position known after an emergency meeting summoned and presided over by its president, Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill via a statement signed and circulated to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

President of DICC had in the statement noted that enough of the political gimmicks going on in the Niger Delta Development Commission, stressing that the group is completely aligning itself with the ultimatum issued by Tompolo to the Federal Government and Akpabio.

Speaking further, Binebai had particularly called on President Muhammadu Buhari, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs  and others not to take the ultimatum for granted, adding that whatever happens in the country, the federal government and Akpabio should be held responsible.

The group particularly described the forensic audit as a conduit pipe of looting the common wealth of Niger Deltans, stressing that the people of Niger Delta has spoken that they want a substantive board, adding that no one has the right to do things against the wish of the people.

Binebai asserted that as it is now, the region is already at lost as other similar commissions in Nigeria are enjoying substantive boards, adding that the Niger Delta region must not be treated differently.

In his words “To us as members of Delta Ijaw Comrade Community (DICC), the whole drama about this endless forensic audit is becoming a scam to us, all we are asking for is to urgently constitute a substantive board for the NDDC.

“We Are not asking for too much, it is clearly illegal to operate the NDDC with interim or sole administrator, fraud must not be allowed to overpower legality, at this point our demand is legal.

“The federal government must be wise enough to heed to our call for an urgent constitution of a Substantive Board. Enough is enough, from this day, our presence will be very visible on the media, our modus operandi will be purely based on the intellectual approach “.
