Warri_____ Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ward 7 Ayakoromo, in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Oyinbi Onduku has called on the leadership of the umbrella party to consider ljaw candidate as its flag bearer in the forthcoming primaries ahead of 2023 Delta Gubernatorial elections, stressing that among all the PDP Guber aspirants, he is 99% convince that only ljaw candidate can undoubtedly defeat its closest APC rival, Sen. Ovie Omo-agege at the poll.

Onduku reiterated that though Delta is PDP state but that does not mean the party should undermine the strength and capacity of the Deputy Senate President’s candidature, saying Sen. Ovie Omo-agege’s developmental stride in Delta Central in particular, and Delta State at large is visible and all embracing, hence the easiest way to overun him at the poll is for PDP to file in ljaw candidate among the three ljaw illustrious sons vying for governor.

In buttressing his points, Onduku stated that based on assessing their track records in government over the years, all the Urhobo aspirants vying for governor in Delta Central from PDP cannot match their APC counterpart, Senator Omo-agege in terms of attracting impactful as well as people oriented infrastructural development to the grassroot.

Then followed by the factor of the controversy between the former Governor, Chief. James lbori Edevbie interest against that of the inccubent Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s interest Sheriff. If paradventure any of the above conflicting leaders interest fall out at the primaries, there is a tendency for such aggrieved leader to work against the party interest at the background during the general elections.

To avoid stories that touch, Onduku suggested that ljaw candidate for governor with Urhobo as running mate will be a good combination that can easily defeat the opposition party in the Delta 2023 Gubernatorial elections. He said the ljaws in the riverine areas in Delta South Senatorial District are strongly united in terms of delivering bloc votes.

Since the ljaws allignment with Delta North is intact, plus the Urhobo factor as running mate, the votes in Delta Central shall be divided into 50/50 or 60/40, that is a win win for PDP against their APC rival at the general elections comes 2023, Onduku asserted.
