EXCLUSIVE: Omo-Agege Declares For Delta 2023 Governorship, Mocks Okowa, PDP, Promise New Delta

His Excellency, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Obarisi of Urhobo nation has declared his intention to contest the Delta 2023 Governorship of the state. The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.

While declaring his interest, the Deputy Senate President and now aspirant for the Delta State 2023 Governorship, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege has mocked His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State and the Peoples Democratic Party for inflicting hardship on Deltans, stressing that the people deserved good leadersdhip. 

Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege made the accusation earlier today at the field of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (Fupre), Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State amidst a massive crowd of the All Progressive Congress supporters. 

In his declaration speech, the Deputy Senate President had assured the APC supporters and Deltans that come 2023, Delta State will be safe under him if given the mandate to be in charge of the state, stressing that everyone will have reasons to smile. 

Speaking further, Omo-Agege said as a senator, he has influenced a lot of projects across the Urhobo nation in Delta State, stressing that he has empowered a lot of youths, women as well as provision of solar powered lights to lighten almost all Urhobo villages. 

While making reference to the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, the Obarisi of Urhobo land had also assured Deltans that more good news are coming, adding that very soon there is going to a news about a Federal University of Agriculture at Abor in Delta North.

Nevertheless, The APC Delta State 2023 Governorship aspirant had while lashing out on Governor Okowa and the PDP stated that enough is enough, adding that it is time for a change of leadership in Delta State, stressing that the PDP should prepare themselves to leave the Government house come 2023.

He alleged that the people of Ukwani, Isoko nation, Urhobos, Ijaws have continued to suffer chronically in the hands of Governor of Delta State, fuming that considering the economic and political contributions of these people in the state, there is nothing the Governor Okowa led administration in Delta State has done for the said people that is commensurate with their contributions. 

He particularly charged progressive Deltans to make decisions that will change their lives for the better. 

He however, commended the massive APC supporters as well as dignitaries that filed out in their numbers to grace the deceleration ceremony. 

In his words: “Let me begin with this song, what can I say unto the Lord, all i have to say is thank you  Lord, Thank you  lord, all i have to  say  is thank you Lord. 

“I appreciates Deltans and APC supporters in the state. Your presence here since 7am is an indication that we are tired of the PDP in Delta State. We are here to change the Okowa led PDP Government come 2023. Without God we are nothing. I also want to appreciates His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari and our dear Senate President Ahmed Lawan for giving me the opportunity to serve you better. Let us come together to build a new Delta”. 

“I am here to tell you that all the promises I made to you in 2015 and 2018,  I have fulfilled all of them. Very soon you are going to hear  that a new federal university of Agriculture in Abor,  Delta North will be born. 

“We have to move out of our comfort zones, I cannot continue to allow Okowa and others to continue the marginalization of Ukwani. This must stop now. The presence of the Okowa led Government is not felt in this area same as the Isoko nation. the Ijaw areas are suffering in Okowa led administration as well, that there is no difference between 2015 to 2022. Enough is enough.

“I Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege on this 14th day of April 2022 hereby declare my intention under the APC to contest the 2023 Delta State Governorship. I know that with God on our side and with your supports, come 2023, we are matching to the Delta State Government House.”

No doubt, we are coming to take over Delta State – Sobotie 

Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Delta State, Elder  Omeni Sobotie has reiterated that there is no doubt that the APC in Delta State is coming out strong to take over Delta State come 2023. 

The APC Delta State Chairman made the remark during his speech at the official declaration of Ovie Omo-Agege for Governor of Delta State come 2023 at the campus of Federal University of petroleum Resources, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State earlier today. 

In his words: “Let no one deceive you that there is no APC in Delta State, when the campaign starts, we will ensure that there is enough food for Deltans. We are coming with full force.”

There is nothing like Ijaw Agenda, we will wait till 2023 – Chief Johnny 

On his part, during his speech as leader of Ijaw All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State, High Chief Michael Johnny, former Delta South Senatorial District APC aspirant stated that there is nothing like Ijaw Agenda come 2023.

He alleged that the Ijaws in APC  Delta State have all resolved that they will massively support Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege who is an Urhobo indigene for the Delta 2023 Governorship race, stressing that the Ijaws will wait till 2023.

Chief Michael Johnny while speaking on the personality of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege asserted that the Deputy Senate President has proven himself worthy to deserve the support of everyone in Delta State.

In his words: “There is nothing like Ijaw agenda, the next person that will take Delta State to the next level is only Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, we have resolved as Ijaw people that we will wait till 2031. We have also resolved to support Agege come 2023. You know us that we do not deceive or go back on our words.”

2023 will be a shocker to PDP in Delta State – Alapala 

While hinting The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide at the venue of the declaration ceremony, Amb. Dr. Anthony Ebitonmo Alapala, alias Odumalagba stated that 2023 will not be business as usual for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State. 

Alapala stated that the APC in Delta State is strong enough to match PDP in Delta State under any level, adding that 2023 will be a shocker to the PDP. 

He alleged that Deltans are generally tired of the Peoples Democratic Party, adding that there is need to change the leadership of the state for others to benefit. 

2023 is a done deal for APC in Delta – Napoleon 

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Napoleon Kenerekedi has stated that the massive crowd that turned out for the declaration ceremony of Sen. Omo-Agege is no doubt a testament that 2023 is a done deal for the APC in Delta State. 

Kenerekedi stated that PDP have always had their way before now, stressing that this time around, the APC will have their way. 

Others that spoke during the declaration ceremony include, Chief Ayiri Emami, Chief Frank Kokori, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor,  Deputy Governors of Kogi and Imo States, Chief Hycient, Chief Lucky, Prophet Jones Erue, National Youth Leader of APC, Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi, Hon. Doris Ugor. Bayelsa East Senator, Chief Giadom (APC Chairman, South South) all spoke on the need to change the PDP led Government in Delta State come 2023.

The event was well attended by the Minister of Transportation Hon. Rotimi Ameachi, who was represented by members of the APC National working committee, 25 Local Government Chairmen of APC in Delta State with the host of others too numerous to mention, the entire arena was filled to the brim. 

It would be recalled that on entertainment, Alfred Izon-ebi, Daddy Showkey, Veteran Comedian Gordon’s,  O’Freh and others too numerous to mention massively entertained to spice up the occasion.
