The duo of Hon. Lucky Ezebri, former Special Assistant, SA to the Governor of Delta State on Social Works and Sir Benike Joseph, lecturer Delta State University, Abraka have congratulated Sen. Douye Diri as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governorship candidate in Bayelsa State ahead of November 16 election.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday jointly signed by the duo of Hon. Lucky Ezebri and Sir Benike Joseph, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.
The duo had particularly described the victory of Sen. Diri as divine and a welcome development to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa State, stressing that Senator Douye is a tested and strong hand in the system.
It would be recalled that Senator Douye Diri until his emergence as candidate of the PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa State is the Senator representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

The Liberator Newspaper can report that out of the 1,244 accredited voters, Diri scored 561 votes to defeat his closest rival and former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, who polled 365 votes.
Meanwhile, the statement commended members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa State, particularly the aspirants for their calmness during and after the election, adding that the PDP family should be more united to face the November 16 governorship election in the state to bring about victory for the party.
The statement maintained that the victory of Diri is a triumph of democracy, stressing that the Senator is before now known as a capable political figure in Bayelsa State and will do well and better as governor of the state.
They had however, reiterated that Bayelsans will continue to smile under Diri as Governor of the state while soliciting support for the PDP Governorship candidate.
