Senior Special Assistant, SSA to the Delta State Governor on Security, Comr. Daniel Ezekiel has commended the military in Nigeria, particularly Delta State in fighting against criminals and ensuring peace in all parts of the state.

The SSA made the remark yesterday during a courtesy visit to the Sector 1 Commander, Operation Delta Safe, 3Batallion Effurun Barracks, in Delta State, Col. MHB. Manu for their enormous role in maintaining peace and tranquillity in their jurisdiction.

While lauding Col. Manu and his gallant officers for a job well done, Comr. Ezekiel Daniel, popularly known as the Aluta SSA had called for partnership among security agencies and communities in state for a more effective security coverage.

The Delta State political appointee had urged the military to establish a mutual understanding within the communities they operate by providing free medical services to the people.

In his words: “We know that the military has been doing that but by sustaining it, there would be a mutual relationship between the military and the people, thereby enhancing the military access to adequate information in order to enable them combat crime effectively within the vicinity”.

In a swift reaction, Col. Manu, appreciated the SSA for his suggestion, describing it as wonderful as well as the timely visit, noting that the Battalion appreciates his coming.

He further stated that the military has been carrying out such free medical and other related services for communities they operates over the years.

“We have done it in Effurun, Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja. We are still planning to embark on other communities. I want us to work out modalities so that we can extend the free medical services to Opuama community in Egbema in the shortest possible time.” Col. Manu stated.
