Reports reaching the news desk of The Liberator Newspaper indicates that Chief Ogodobiri Peikumo Daniel, the Aduaten of Iduwini Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State will be given a six days befitting burial at Forcados community.
This was made known to The Liberator Newspaper recently by the most eldest son of late Ogodobiri Peikumo Daniel, Sir Ogodobiri Jonatus.
According to him, while the family is working and preparing heavily on how to give their late father a first of its kind burial in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, the dates have been fixed to begin the six days state burial, commencing on the 13th to 18th of December 2019.
Mr. Jonatus Ogodobiri hinted our reporter that other activities pertaining to the burial will be made public after having more family meetings, stressing that the said dates have been agreed and fixed by the entire family.
It would be recalled that late Chief Ogodobiri Peikumo before his death on February 2019 was the oldest man in Forcados community, a former administrative headquarter of Nigeria.
A background research on the personality of late Ogodobiri Peikumo reveals that he was a former military officer in Nigeria who was among those officers that gallantly fought the Nigeria civil war that started in 1967 and ended in 1970.
However, further investigation reveals that after the civil war, Chief Peikumo resigned from the Nigeria Army as a Last Corporal. Information has it that after his voluntary retirement from the military, he got all his entitlements in full as an officer that duely served the country.
Until his death, late Ogodobiri was a loud voice in Induwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, his historical teachings, bold resistance to oppression of any kind and his stance for good governance will surely be missed by the traditional institution of Iduwini Delta, his family and others that are connected to him in one way or the other.
The Liberator can report that late Ogodobiri besides hailing from Ofougbene also hails from Orugbene town, (Okpor family) and Obotobo II (Lamiengha family) all in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
