A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Duncan Forcados has congratulated the Governorship candidate, Sen. Douye Diri on his victory in the just concluded PDP primary in the state.
This was contained in a congratulatory message issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday, signed by Comr. Duncan Forcados, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.
Duncan had particularly appealed to Bayelsans to que behind the candidature of Sen. Douye Diri, stressing that he has what it takes to move the state to a greater height.
The Liberator Newspaper can report that out of the 1,244 accredited voters, Diri scored 561 votes to defeat his closest rival and former Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Ndutimi Alaibe, who polled 365 votes.
Meanwhile, the statement commended members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Bayelsa State, particularly the aspirants for their calmness during and after the election, adding that the PDP family should be more united to face the November 16 governorship election in the state to bring about victory for the party.
It would be recalled that Senator Douye Diri until his emergence as candidate of the PDP in the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa State is the Senator representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
