Godspenal 2019 Football Tournament To Kick Off Tomorrow In Delta

The much anticipated Godspenal football tournament 2019 will kick off tomorrow Thursday at the Ogulagha football pitch in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
The event which will officially commence on Thursday 10th October with opening ceremony at the Ogulagha football pitch will witness 18 teams drawn from Ogulagha, Iduwini and Kou kingdoms in Delta and Bayelsa States that will slug it out to the finals.
Information released by the organisers of the tournament indicated that winner of the tournament will go home with N200, 000 while the first and second runner up will get N150,000 and N100, 000 respectively.
The soccer event which is sponsored by Niger Delta business icon and philanthropist, Apostle Godspower Tomone will be played in Ogulagha and Youbebe communities, while the finals will be played at Youbebe at a date that will be announced later.
According to Apst. Tomone ” the tournament is in a wider perspective, a medium of annexing raw talents in the area of the round leather game called football and in same vein promoting peace and industriousness among the youths in the coastal areas experimenting with the Ogulagha, Iduwini, and Kou kingdoms in Delta and Bayelsa states. ”
The sponsor also disclosed that the best players that will emerge from the tournament will become pioneer team for the soon to be established Godspenal football academy.
Co-organisers of the tournaments includes, the famous Coach and FIFA representative in Ogulagha kingdom Akin Ayigo, Coach Oliver Igwe from Asaba, former Warri Wolves coach, Erico, Coach Delpero of Ogulagha etc.
Recall that registration of teams started August, while the draws and official unveiling of trophies and teams for the tournament had been held earlier.
