Also dole out additional cash for upkeep

It is indeed a good news to all lovers of humanity in the World as the John Dekawei Foundation, a leading Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) with International links rescues the life of an Ijaw lady, Mss Gift Daulami from Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State  from Appendicitis. 

The Liberator Newspaper can report that it all started on Monday 24th of August 2020 when Mss Gift Daulami had a sudden health challenge that led to rushing her to St. Andrew’s Hospital along Robert Road in Warri, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta.

According to the medical doctor in charge of the patient who spoke to The Liberator Newspaper on condition of anonimity stated that the lady was rushed to the hospital on that fateful day in an emergency situation, after diagnosing her medically, the doctor revealed that her case was that of Appendicitis.

He told family members of Gift Daulami that the situation is terrible as they should bring money for the operation and a deposit of N20,000,00 should be deposited into the hospital’s account before the operation can be done.

The story continues that the family of young Gift was helpless as the patient was also struggling with life, it was so until they got a wind of how the John Dekawei Foundation has been assisting people via similar situations around the country. 

The Liberator Newspaper can report that reasonable hours have passed already with the health condition of Daulami Gift deteriorating at each passing hour before they finally contacted John Dekawei Foundation.

Immediately, founder and chairman of the John Dekawei Foundation, Amb. John Dekawei who was in Abuja as at then when he was briefed on the matter, he instantly transferred above the initial N20,000,00 deposit but rather transferred N30,000,00 as deposit for her operation. 

Upen confirming the receipt of the money, Daulami was urgently moved to the theatre for the operation and at the end it was successful.

It was later in the evening that the Niger Delta leading philanthropist transferred the remaining balance of N30,000,00 to pay the entire N60,000,00 medical bill of young Daulami. 

In what could be described as an uncommon act of goodness, Amb. John Dekawei also doled out N20,000,00 to the family of Gift Daulami for her upkeep, after clearing  the entire N60,000,00 medical bill. 

The good news is that Mrs Gift Daulami has been discharged earlier today from the St. Andrew’s Hospital with her body strong and healthy as she is now with her family at  her residence in Warri .

Dekawei  maintained that man do not need to have the entire money in the world before helping the needy, adding that the foundation will always look into situations like this just as he said the Lord Almighty remains the ultimate. 

When Gift Daulami was contacted via phone by our reporter, she said it is only the Lord Almighty that will reward Amb. John Dekawei and members of the foundation, stressing that she will continue to pray for his advancement in the society, noting that she is so surprised that good men of such still exist in Nigeria. 

Gift  asserted that she lacks the proper words to use in appreciating Amb. Dekawei for saving her life.  

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that out of his many humanitarian services to humanity, the John Dekawei Foundation on June 19th 2020 also cleared the medical bill of Mrs Peace Cletus who delivered a baby boy at the Lonia Clinic/Hospital in Udu, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State on May 27th but could not leave due to the inability of her family to pay the bill but 19 days after when the John Dekawei Foundation got a wind of it, the bill was cleared. 

Mrs Peace Cletus, is an Isoko from Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. 

The foundation had also rescued Mrs Ebhodaghe Obehi from Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State who delivered in the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital one week  with a healthy baby but could not leave the hospital because there was no money to pay for the delivery  bill, hence the N69,000.00 medical bill was cleared by Amb. John Dekawei. 

The John Dekawei Foundation apart from visiting orphanage homes on a monthly basis with lots of packages to the orphanage homes also doled out foodstuffs to communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Iduwini Kingdom in Delta State as well as Egbema Kingdom in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State during the nationwide lockdown occasioned by the novel coronavirus. 

Amb. John Dekawei is President general of the revered Niger Delta Socio Cultural group under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Youth Movement for Political Advancement (DIYMPA), raising the banner of good governance in Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
