There seem to be endless joy among the people of  Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area as the Kingdom’s apex youth body under the aegis of Gbaramatu Youths  Council (GYC) on Friday inaugurated the mobile parliament of the youths council. The Liberator Newspaper can report

The inauguration was done during the maiden general meeting of the Gbaramatu Youth Council, the highest youth organ in the Kingdom at  Johala/Ijaghala on Friday 18th of September 2020 in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State. 

High point of the meeting which was presided over by the President General of GYC, Comr. Shadrach Onitsha which was massively attended by the youths of Gbaramatu Kingdom was the inauguration of the Gbaramatu Mobile Youths Parliament. 

The jubilation that trailed the inauguration of the youth parliament was the emergence of Barr. Frank Ekpemupolo, a tested and trusted youth leader in the Niger Delta region as Speaker of the parliament. 

However, Barr. Frank Ekpemupolo, Speaker of the Gbaramatu Youths Mobile Parliament had in his acceptance speech appreciated all leaders of Gbaramatu Kingdom who supported the President Shadrach’s administration by providing the enabling resources which made it possible for the meeting to take place. 

Speaking further, Ekpemupolo also lauded the people of  Johala/Ijaghala in Gbaramatu Kingdom for the peaceful hosting of the meeting.

Barr. Frank vowed that he will not dissapoint the youths of Gbaramatu Kingdom in his new office, stressing that he will work collectively with his team members to ensure that the right laws be made to ease the executive arm of GYC in their quest to engage critical stakeholders and the multinational oil companies operating in the Kingdom. 

In his words: “On behalf of the privileged parliamentarians of the most distinguished mobile parliament of Gbaramatu Youths Council(G.Y.C), I wish to appreciate both the youths and leaders effort, most especially the result oriented president of Council, Comr. Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme for the constitutional consciousness of his team in making the parliament a reality. Thank you sir.

“And, on the above premise, while I put on every checkmating mechanism in accordance with the provisions of the constitution to curb any ultra vires, I also make bold to say that, parliament will be committed in making laws that will ease the executives strive in engaging relevant stakeholders and multi-national oil companies  for developmental purposes. 

“I also wish to thank the good people of Johala/Ijaghala community, for creating such an accommodating environment that played host to the first general meeting of Shadrach led Council, we are grateful and it worth emulating.

“Once again, thank you all for the opportunity given to us to serve under this platform.”
