The member representing Burutu 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly Hon. Asupa Forteta has presented the report on the “Delta State Public Occupational safety Bill 2020”.
Forteta who is the Chairman house committee on Peace and Security presented the report to the house on Thursday during plenary.
Receiving the report, The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori commended and thanked the chairman and members of the committee for a job well done.
The bill had been referred to the House Committee on Peace and Security for further legislative deliberations and scrutiny on Wednesday 15th July 2020 haven scaled through second reading.
When passed into law, the bill will provide for public and private safety as well as detection and prevention of crime in public and private places and for other matters connected therewith.
The Bill, was however referred to the House Committee on Peace and Security, after it scaled through second reading on the floor of the Legislative Chamber last week Wednesday 15th July, 2020. For further, legislative scrutiny and deliberations . The Committee was requested to report back within a week, hence the report.
