In what has been described as an uncommon gesture, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State on Security,  Sir Victor Azebiri has spent hundreds of thousands of Naira to maintain the heavily bad commissioner road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

When asked on what triggered him to embark on the gesture, he stated that as a humanist, he did it to celebrate his boss, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State on his birth anniversary.

He noted that there is no better way to celebrate or appreciate his boss Governor Okowa than to embark on such gesture, stressing that he feels so happy to have contributed to the well-being of society.

Hon. Victor said he couldn’t bear to see how commuters and pedestrians suffer while passing through the road owing to its bad shape.

Commissioner road in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has been in a terrible, terrific and terrifying condition thereby causing unnecessary issues to commercial drivers, pedestrians and all those that ply the road.

The situation is even worse during the rainy season as even little downpour could result to flood and would be watching away the poorly done concrete road.

The Liberator Newspapers can report that there is a one lane drainage that has linked the road to other areas constructed by the Warri/ Uvwie and Environs Special Areas Development Agency.

In order to remedy the pathetic situation the people are going through in the area, the Delta State Governor through its various parastatals and other federal government agencies like the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) should award the construction of the road as a contract as well as the Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Areas  Development Agency should be quick enough to work on the second lane of the drainage and to link it accordingly, only this can stop the perennial flooding in the area and remedy the bad nature of the road.

However, the Lord Almighty sent Hon. Victor Azebiri to provide sucour for the road users in the interim as trailers of stones have been bought to fill the bad and deep portions of the road.

The Liberator Newspapers can report that till this moment, Victor Azebiri is still working on the road with trailers of stones.
