Newly elected chairman of Burutu community, headquater of the Local Government Area, Comr. Pondy Ebipadewei Stainless has vowed that his administration will neither sleep nor rest until the lost glory of Burutu is returned.

Comr. Pondy made the vow on Friday at the Burutu community town hall during the official inaguration of the community executive members.

According to him, he will launch series of programmes that will make positive impacts on the lives of Burutu inhabitants, stressing that he will work hard to ensure that contacts are made to leap frog Burutu from its present stage.

He maintains that the new executive under his leadership will work closely with all relevant stakeholders in the Niger Delta region for the total redemption of Burutu in terms of development.

Pondy particularly charged members of Burutu community to always embrace visitors, noting that the symbiotic relationship between indigenes and their hosts matters a lot for the development of the community, adding that he will work very closely with the elders council of Burutu community and the youth structure.

In his words: “I will launch series of programmes to better Burutu, as an exco we will embark on Burutu Community chairman official residence project and we will liase with credible financial institutions for the building of hostels and ferry boats as a way of driving funds for the community.

“I want to stand for the total development of Burutu community, Burutu must embrace visitors to develop, I will work closely with the elders forum, I want it to be said that we work together as a people. Unity and love is our watch word”.

Burutu may be connected with road before the end of the Okowa’s administration- Takeme

Chairman of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Delta South Senatorial District, Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme, who was chairman of the inauguration ceremony while expressing joy for the peaceful conduct of the Burutu community executive noted that the development of Burutu is a general concern for all stakeholders in the local government and beyond.

He said, he was priviledged to have heard from the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to have stated that before the end of his administration, Burutu is likely to be connected with road.

However, speaking among various issues bedeviling Burutu community as son of the soil, Chief Julius had enjoined the people of Burutu to throw away all lingering internal court cases, noting that such cases are hampering the effective development of the community.

He had particularly charged the Comr. Pondy led administration to immediately call for a stakeholders meeting to begin the process.

From the federal government of Nigeria, 1000 housing units will be coming to Burutu Local Government – Angele

On his part, Chairman Burutu Local Government Area, Hon. Godknows Angele has assured the people of Burutu community that there are moves from the federal government of Nigeria to build 1000 housing units in Burutu Local Government Area.

He pointed out that Burutu being the headquater of the Local Government will have 200 housing units, stressing that the houses when completed will help to decongest the growing population in the community owing to the various institutions the community is hosting.

Speaking further, Angele posited that Burutu will have light before the end of December 2019, stressing that moves are already on ground to achieve that.

He said he is working out mechanisms to ensure that when the light comes up, it will continue till the end of his administration.

Burutu has been known for its peaceful disposition- Alubeze

On his part, leader Burutu legislative Arm, Rt Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze hailed the people of Burutu community for their peaceful disposition over the years.

Stating that Burutu community is leading by example as headquater of the Local Government Area.

It would be recalled that the presence of Common Assembly including their chairman were heavily present during the occasion to which the chairman of Burutu community, Comr. Pondy is part of.

The new executive members to pilot the affairs of Burutu community for the next two years include Comr. Pondy Ebipadewei Stainless, Chairman; Comr. Gilbert Ekemieyefa, Vice Chairman; Chief Edwin Dio, Secretary general; Mr. Dowell Preye, Assistant Secretary; Comr. Aminu Suyei, Financial Secretary; Mr. John Donuwei, Treasurer as well as Comr. Gbenena Yinzuo as Public Relations Officer, PRO.

At the reception, Sir Victor Tonlagha and Amb. Chief Evans E. Etimigba (JP), major sponsors of the inaguration ceremony among others made their triumphant entry into the reception as a rising Ijaw music artist, Best May thrills audience to maximum satisfaction
