….King Allen to perform live at grand finale

The ancient Ogido-Owu Festival will begin its 2021 edition today the 1st of February 2021 at the Igbomoturu 1 community in Boma Kingdom, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. 

This was made known to newsmen in Yenagoa earlier today via a statement signed by the duo of Deputy Highness Bello Goda, CDC Chairman Ebipamunu Timinumu, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers. 

The duo of Deputy Highness Bello Goda, CDC Chairman Ebipamunu Timimunu had on behalf of the clan invited lovers of Ijaw culture and tradition to grace the epoch making ancient festival of the community, maintaining that all arrangements have been concluded in taking care of dignitaries that will be thronging the festival. 

In speaking about the spiritual significance of the festival, Bello and Ebipamunu noted that the festival is as old as the Igbomoturu Clan itself, adding that it is purely for the spiritual cleansing of the clan and her people ahead of the year for progress. 

They particularly hinted The Liberator Newspapers that there are a lot of benefits tied to sons and daughters of the kingdom and beyond that participates in the festival. 

However, they opined that beyond the incantations, the colourful and magnificent display of the masquerades, particularly the Ogido-Owu, adding that the display of the masquerade alone is a great sight to behold. 

According to the information, the festival is billed for three days from 1st of February to 3rd of February 2021 with different mind blowing cultural activities. 

They continued that the festival also features sports and other social events which according to them is an all embracing one. 

Meanwhile, The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report that an Ijaw music luminary, King Allen Alabor and his bandset will be on ground live to perform and thrill dignitaries though out the night at the grand finale of the event which is on Wednesday 3rd of February 2021.

The statement had also lauded renowned Niger Delta former warlord, self styled Gen. Amagbein for his continuous financial supports towards the success of the festival in each passing year. 

Nevertheless, the statement maintained that other significance of the festival is the coming together of all sons and daughters of the Kingdom, promotion of unity among indigenes of Igbomoturu 1 and the boosting of the socio economic life of the community within the period.
