A renowned Niger Delta sociocultural group operating under the aegis of Ijaw Interest Advocates (IIA), popularly known as Izanzan Intellectual Camp on Saturday over the weekend paid a visit to Hon. Preye Oseke Influnece, member Representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, House of Representatives at his Yenagoa residence in Bayelsa State to discuss critical issues bedeviling the Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Nigerian state. In his speech during the meeting, national coordinator of the Izanzan Intellectual Camp, Amb. Arerebo Yerinmene Salaco Jnr had appreciated Hon. Preye Influence Oseke on his visionary leadership steps taken to allay the fears of his people and by extension Niger Deltans.
He noted that as a first timer, the federal lawmaker as part of his oversight functions is using his connections to empower youths in his constituency and beyond, securing massive employment for Niger Deltans no matter where you come from, stressing that the group is happy hence they had written to have an audience with him in order to extol him on his leadership qualities.
While lauding him for the audience within a short period of time, Arerebo Salaco had urged Hon. Oseke not to be tired in doing good to the people, stressing that Niger Deltans from far and near admire him a lot and would do anything to support him whenever the need arises.
Speaking further, Salaco had while speaking on other issues bedeviling the Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Nigerian state urged the lawmaker to pick up the issue of the allegedly abandoned Technical College at Okoloba in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.
He also expresses worry over the spate of insecurity ravaging parts of the country, adding that the Ijaw Ethic national must emulate their Western and Eastern brothers by setting up an Ijaw security outfit to safeguard themselves.
However, in his response, Hon. Preye Influence Oseke appreciated the group for coming to identify with him, adding that even though Southern Ijaw is his primary constituency, he will always try his best to reach out to people from other places whenever the need arises.
He also lauded the activities of Izanzan Intellectual Camp for their stance in the constitution of a Substantive Board for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), describing it as a group with integrity.
Meanwhile, Oseke had urged the group to make proper findings with factual and necessary historical backgrounds on the Okoloba Technical College in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State either in form of a petition or otherwise for him to look at it legislatively.
He particularly urged the group not to derail from the core interests of the Ijaw people in the Niger Delta region.
Other members of the Izanzan Intellectual Camp that attended the crucial meeting include Comr. Samuel Ebolo, Comr. Sampson Azigbeotu as well as Comr. Nicholas Igarama.
