Ijaw Chief Priests Meet In Warri, Harps On Unity,  Resolve Differences

It was an exhibition of unity as the Izonebe Chief Priests Association Worldwide held a crucial meeting yesterday at Gen. Godday Smith, popularly known as Bounanawei, King of the forest compound in Warri, Delta State to brainstorm on the way forward. 

The issues tabled at the meeting bothers on fostering unity among members of the association, resolving of differences and the way forward for the entire Ijaw nation was seriously discussed. 

Hinting The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide after the meeting, Gen. Bounanawei, King of the forest who is the Boloudaowei ( Supreme leader ) of the spiritual association asserted that he feels so happy to see the exhibition of love and unity among members of the association, stressing that better days are here for the Ijaw people. 

He particularly maintained that the Chief Priests will continue to consult the Ijaw deities from their different communities and kingdoms on the spiritual fortification and development of Ijaw nation. 

The Boloudaowei had called on sons and daughters of Ijaw nation to always remember where they are coming from as Ijaw people by protecting the customs and traditions of Ijaw nation. 

“In one accord we the chief priests of Ijaw nation have come to bless every sons and daughters of Ijaw nation. However, in love we will wax higher but in division we shall perish, let us respect our culture and its deities” Gen. Godday Smith stated. 

The meeting was called at the instance of the group’s Chairman, Chief Godwin Oroupade, the  ogbunu kare-owei 3rd of Ezebiri town to discuss on how the Ijaw Nation will move forward.

Chairman of the association, Chief Godwin Oroupade stated that “the meeting was held to promote Ijaw nation, bringing our deities from our various places  together and to make sure the Ijaw chief priests come together as one. Am earnestly reaching out to those priests who have not attended meeting with us. Come, let us dialogue for the way forward. United we stand, and let  there be no intermission between priestdom of our nation”.

Meanwhile, Chief Priests from most Ijaw Kingdoms massively turned out to attend the historic meeting.
