Newly democratically elected and inaugurated President of Odimodi Youth Council, Comr. Akin Disi has stated that he will contribute his quota together with his executive members for the development of Odimodi and its federated communities in Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

President Akin made the vow yesterday during his acceptance speech shortly after the inauguration exercise, stressing that he will build and sustain the love and unity in the community.

Speaking among other vital issues, Akin noted that his administration has plans to contribute towards the growth and development of the community, adding that better days have truely come to stay in Odimodi.

He had particularly appreciated members of Odimodi, especially the youths for choosing him as their leader, stating that he will not disappoint the confidence reposed on him.

However, in his opening remark, Chairman of the occasion, Chief Boro Opudu, Chairman Delta State Waterways/Land Security Committee, ably represented by Comr. Isaiah Ingo asserted that Odimodi as a community should always allow the will of the people to prevail.

He said Odimodi should be united to confront her darkest challenges, adding that youths of Odimodi must prepare themselves for leadership.

In his words: “We should always allow the will of the people to prevail, i really thank Odimodi for the peaceful conduct of the election, take Odimodi interest first. We should not destroy Odimodi. Youths must prepare themselves for the leadership of tomorrow.”

Comr. Ingo also charged President Akin to always work together with his executive members, noting that internal strife should be discouraged by all means, stating that it has done more harm than good.

On his part, Dr. Jude Ikporukpo, associate professor from the Niger Delta University, Amassoma, Bsyelsa State who hails from Odimodi had in his goodwill message to the newly inaugurated executive members tasked them to continue to sustain the unity in the community.

He also admonished the youth executive members to rise above cliche in the community, noting that much is expected from the executive members.

“It is always a good thing to see our people in unity, so much is expected of you, ensure that you rise above cliche” Dr. Jude stated.
In his speech, outgone president of the Odimodi Federated Youth Council, Amb. Dere Podoki particularly appreciated members of the community for standing by him during his tenure as president, noting that he is happy to have served them.
Speaking among other issues, Amb. Podoki emplored members of the community to transfer the love shown to him to the new exco led by Akin.
Youth President of Obotobo II community in Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Samuel Ebiarede Uyadongha had in his goodwill message noted that Odimodi is a sister community hence he will work closely with the youth executive whenever the need arises.
High point of the event was the anointing of the new exco members for the grace of God to prevail in their administration by a renowned man of God, Prophet Andrew Isama, alias Lion Prophet.
Lion Prophet is the general overseer of the Testimony Ministry of All People, a prophetic ministry located at Okuokoko in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The newly inaugurated executive members include: “Comr. Akin Edisemi Disi, President; Odobra Endoro, Vice President; Comr. Jackson Ikporukpo, secretary; Paul Gbegha, Asistant Secretary; Comr. Ebiyaidou Richards dewei, Public Relations Officer, PRO; Comr. Obaila Weri, financial Secretary; Ms Queen Guwor, treasurer and Fezofawei Etunemi, Sport director.”

The event was well attended by people from all works of life within Ijaws of Delta State.
