Publicity secretary of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) Worldwide, Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha has stated that the highest leadership in Ijaw nation (INC) under Prof. Benjamin Ogele Okaba as its president will stabilize and address the multifaceted issues bedeviling the Ijaw nation Worldwide. The publicity secretary of Ijaw nation Worldwide gave the assurance over the weekend in Warri at little paradise hotel in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State while playing host to Ijaw media publishers.
While commending the publishers for their timely and objective reportage of happenings around the country, Ijaw land and the World at large, Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha had stated that he is proud of them, stressing that his decision to host the publishers was to work in synergy with them in order to propagate the Ijaw agenda in the Nigerian state and beyond, adding that his doors and phone numbers will always be open for progressive ideas to move the Ijaw nation forward.
He continued that as the image maker of Ijaw nation Worldwide, he said his job is strictly to engage the media in order to bring to the public programmes and activities of the INC with a view of putting the Ijaw nation in proper perspective.
Oyakemeagbegha maintained that his office will continue to liase with the indigenous publishers and will be ready to encourage them from time to time, stressing that peace, love and unity among Ijaw sons and daughters remains key to the development of Ijaw nation.
However, the image maker of Ijaw nation Worldwide had charged Ijaw sons and daughters that are 45 years and above to take full advantage of the ongoing INC membership registration in the various Ijaw communities, kingdoms and chapters.
Engr. Ezonebi further stressed that in line with the promise made by the INC President, Prof. Benjamin Ogele Okaba during the inauguration at Ijaw House in Yenagoa of putting in place all structures in Congress within 60 days, he said Congress is doing everything possible to achieve it.
He asserted that the registration is important as it remains the only thing that will qualify any Ijaw man or woman who is in that age bracket to vote and be voted for, adding that the gains associated with being a full fledged registered member of the INC cannot be overemphasized.
Meanwhile, he had reiterated that there will never be a dull moment throughout his tenure as publicity secretary of Ijaw nation, stressing that the multifaceted woes confronting the Ijaw nation and the Niger Delta region in the Nigerian state will continue to be brought to the media after due consultations when the need arises.
Nevertheless, in unity, the publishers had appreciated and assured the publicity secretary of Ijaw nation, Engr. Oyakemeagbegha for recognising and identifying with them, stressing that they will do anything under their capacity to collaborate with his office in retelling the Ijaw story in the Nigerian state.
