Independence: Angozi salutes Nigerians, urges Deltans to support policies, programmes of Governor Okowa

Says his dream of making Delta one indivisible family is still alive

A political bigwig in Delta State, Chief (Dr) Braduce Amakazi Angozi, fcim, popularly known as the political Pope has greeted Nigerians as today marks the 59th independence of the country.
Chief Braduce also urged Deltans to continue to support the policies and programmes of the state Governor, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa in building a stronger and more united Delta


In his words: “I wish to use this opportunity to call on Deltans to support the policies and programmes of the state government led by His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to bring about a stronger and more united Delta State of our dream.”

This was contained in an independence message personally signed and circulated to newsmen in Warri by Chief (Dr) Braduce Amakazi Angozi, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

The political Pope had in the gracefully written message assured Deltans that his dream of making Delta one indivisible family is still alive.

“My dream to make our dear state a one stop hub where every Deltans will see themselves as one indivisible family is alive.” Chief Braduce asserted.

However, Amakazi had warned against the culture of mediocrity, corruption, ethnic and religious sentiments which according to him has held Delta and Nigeria backward from really developing over the years.

I heartily fecilitate with Nigerians and Deltans in particular on this auspicious occasion of our 59th Independence anniversary.

The vision of our founding fathers of building a truly egalitarian society where Love, Freedom and Justice reign has been reasonably achieved through unity that has freely bond us together which has carved a niche for us among committee of Nations.

As we all rejoice and celebrate our 59th year of nationhood today, I admonish us to reflect back for self appraisal on those things which have been holding us back as a Nation from achieving the dreams and goals of our heroes past. Nation building is a collective effort which requires collective will and mindset to achieve.

Henceforth, we all need to do away with the culture of mediocrity, corruption, ethnic and religious sentiment which has held us backwards from developing our potentials of emerging as a great Nation.

My fellow Deltans, it is time for us as a State to chart a new beginning that will lead us into prosperity and remarkable achievement in all spheres of human endeavors having been immensely blessed by God with rich human and natural resources which make us to be the envy of other States.

Deltans, as a State founded on peace, love and unity, I see a brighter future ahead of us. I pray you all to remain committed and resolute in building our darling State irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliations.

I hereby use this period of Independence anniversary celebration to assure you confidently that the sky is indeed bright for us and the Dream to build a State without religion and ethnic acrimony is still on course.

Once again Deltans, I congratulate you all.
