An appeal has gone to delegates ahead of the forthcoming Ijaw Youth Council IYC Worldwide to consider casting their votes for Hon. Frank Pukon for the position of Secretary General of the council.

The Chairman Media / Publicity Committee of the Frank Pukon Campaign organisation Comr. Morris Esegha made the appeal in a release issued to newsmen, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper on Saturday.

Esegha noted that Pukon remains the most experienced candidate for the job haven served as a member of the council over the years.

While harping on the need to elect not just those who posses the capacity but requisite experience, he said, ”as the transition process that will usher in a new breed of young and articulate leaders who will pilot the affairs of the highly revered Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Worldwide gathers momentum, it is very crucial and vital that we collectively project and elect those who possess not just capacity but also experience and willpower to occupy various offices in our feared council.”

”It is therefore pertinent and urgent for me to appeal to critical stakeholders, elders, clan and zonal leaders and all delegates to consider Hon. Frank Pukon to represent our extraordinary western zone in the national executive council as Secretary General of our most respected Ijaw Youth Council, worldwide.”

He reiterated that ”Hon. Pukon with his wide range of experience as member of council who has over the years served in various capacities and also with his legislative experience will usher in pragmatic approach to addressing and solving issues faced by our beloved Ijaw nation, he is an embodiment and a product of the Ijaw struggle, hence; will deliver on the dividends of council if given the mandate to serve as secretary of council.”

”It is therefore my humble appeal that delegates in the forthcoming IYC National Election will cast their votes for a young, humble and dogged comrade who understands the language of our creeks as secretary of council worldwide.” He posited.

He stated that ”a vote for Comr. Frank Pukon is a vote for the way forward of our revered council.
