Clan Chairmen Forum of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in Western Zone has asked Chief Frank Akiefa and comrade Razak William Amatoru to make a joint statement by apologizing to the Ijaw nation in their alleged mischievous ploy to amplify hate and disunity amongst Ijaw youths.

The clan chairmen made the call yesterday via a statement issued to newsmen in Warri, signed by the trio of Comr. Thompson Fuludu, Chairman of all chairmen, Western Zone, Comr. Godspower Erekake, Secretary as well as  Comr. Amakiye Ekaye, leader of the house, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

In their words: “It is on notice that some overzealous people who are purveyors of disunity, are trying to plant  discord in the Western Zone structure of the Ijaw Youth Council.

“We want to therefore caution Chief Akiefa and comrade Razak to be mindful of their mischiefs and by this statement desist and apologize to the Ijaw nation, leaders, stakeholders and the Ijaw youths in Western Zone.

“It is very worrisome for Chief Akiefa who is clearly not abreast with Council’s decision to wake up in his comfort zone and make appointment without  consultation.

“What is even more worrisome is the fact that comrade Razak William Amatoru who is a stakeholder and a custodian of IYC’s polity fell cheaply to flagrantly support and accept to be the Chairman of Elders Council, in Western Zone, an arrangement that was done without proper consultation.

“Chief Akiefa should know that there are leaders in this Zone, particularly the current national leaders of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide in the trio of Rt. Hon. Frank Pukon, National Secretary IYC, Barr. Obiri Ebilade, National legal adviser IYC as well as Comr. Tina Tobusi, National Women leader IYC.

“How could Chief Akiefa and his group of people unanimously appoint persons into committees without consulting the Clan Chairmen in the zone and the national leaders, this is really a bad development, no congress or whatsoever.

“This is unfortunate and pathetic. We know Chief Akiefa is desperately working to be relevant, however, the path he is toying is despicable and may bring more disrepute to the little importance people accord him. This lust for power by Chief Akiefa and comrade Razak is strange.

“By this statement we call on Chief Akiefa and comrade Razak to make a joint statement of apology with immediate effect. Failure by the duo to act on this, as Clan Chairmen we will not only declare a media war on them, but also proscribe them as enemies to the Ijaw struggle of self-determination and resource control.”

Meanwhile, when calls was put across to the duo of Comr. Razak Amatoru and Chief Frank Akiefa, they were unable to take calls nor returned the calls.
