The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) is no longer comfortable with the death saga between Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja  in Warri South-West and Udu LGA, Delta State which led to the killing of Pastor Yerinbide Sylvester recently through a severe torture by alleged assailants from Aladja community.

As asserted by the Ngbilebiri IYC clan chairman, SSA Media to the IYC president worldwide and also the IYC chairman of the chairmen forum, western zone, Comr. Ebolo Samuel noted that securing lives and properties of the citizens remains the foundation for good governance in any state and Delta is not excluded.

The statement reads below:

There is no gainsaying that security of lives and properties of the citizens is a bedrock, foundation for good governance in any State and Delta State is not excluded.

Perhaps, a responsible government is one saddled with the responsibility of providing adequate security of lives and properties for its people. So, it is an executive responsibility of Government to provide security. A government known for its inability to provide such will be seen not only as irresponsible one but wicked & inhuman.

However, we are so fortunate to having his Excellency, Barr. Dcn Kingsley Otuaro, the incumbent Deputy governor of Delta State who over the years has been identified as problem-solver, security expert and his  in-depth knowledge of the creeks of the Niger Delta region but we’ve yet seen his proactive steps to end the incestant killing of our vibrant youths in the name of crises  who were not only  blessing to their  community but Nigeria at large.

We are also blessed with representatives who were voted into offices to speak on behalf of the people, residents in Ogbe-Ijoh & Aladja, if not for wickedness what stops them from coming together to find a lasting peace/ solution to this aforementioned crises.
Are these Leaders aware it is about human lives and how many more souls are we still expecting to go before this issue will be laid to rest?

The IYC is no longer comfortable with the attitude of the Deputy governor of Delta State Barr. Dcn Kingsley Otuaro, our representatives, various key leaders from the communities that they’re not doing enough to end this “death SAGA” between Ogbe- Ijoh & Aladja in Warri South West and Udu Local Government Areas of Delta State. The situation is alarming and needs adequate and immediate attention.

However, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the IYC Chairman Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom Amb. Victor Akemotubo and the entire community over the demise of their beloved brother, Pastor Yerinbide Sylvester. We pray the good Lord strengthen and gives you all the needed heart and encouragement to go through this trying period. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen

Comr. Ebolo Samuel IYC Chairman, Chairmen Forum Western Zone.
