A group under the aegis of Ijaw Interest Advocates, IIA otherwise known as Izanzan intellectual camp has celebrated the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to recompose the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Board.

This was contained in a press statement issued to newsmen in Warri today, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper signed by the national coordinator of the Ijaw Interest Advocates IIA, Amb. Yerinmene Salaco Jr.
Salaco particularly hailed president Buhari, describing the decision as a welomce development and an ethnic balancing action.
“Following the decision of President Buhari over the recomposition of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board after long lasting battle, Izanzan Camp hails President Buhari, describes his decision as “Ethnicity Balancing Action”.
“We have indeed fought a good fight and we thank God that presidency has heard our cry and protest. Our position right from onset is that the NDDC act should be followed for the formation of the new substantive board and most importantly the collective sensibilities of the Ijaws should not for any reason whatsoever taken for granted.
“By the NDDC act, the Managing Director is zoned to Bayelsa State while the board chairman is zoned to Delta State therefore it’s expected that the proper thing should be done for the sake of equal right, fairness and justice.
“Now that president Buhari has approved the decomposition of the board, we implore our leaders that are very much qualified and have the people and the development of the region at heart to begin permutation.
“While we are still watching keenly, we advise the interim board to be steadfast and transparent in their operations to enable an enabling and sustainable commission that will help transform our region.” Izanzan camp stated.
