Jetty Construction: Ogbe-Ijoh IYC Issue 14 Days Ultimatum To Chairman Tuoyo

The Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom structure of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State have issued a 14 days Ultimatum to the Chairman of the Local Government , Hon. Taiye Duke Tuoyo to urgently construct the Ogbe-Ijoh jetty within two weeks.

This was contained in a statement signed and circulated to newsmen in Warri earlier today by Amb. Victor E. Akemotubo, Chairman IYC Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide. 

The group had particularly appealed to His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State to call Hon. Tuoyo Duke, Chairman Warri South West Local Government to order. 

Amb. Victor Akemotubo had maintained that unless the jetty is constructed within  two weeks, otherwise the Chairman should be ready to face the Ijaw youths via a peaceful massive protest. 

According to the IYC Chairman, the jetty to be constructed is the wooden jetty used by council workers.

Call Tuoyo to order, IYC Ogbe-Ijoh Urges Gov. Okowa

….Gives 2 weeks ultimatum for the jetty to be constructed or face mass protest by Ijaw youths

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom urges the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to call on the Executive Chairman Warri South West LGA Hon Taiye Tuoyo Duke to order due to the obvious marginalization of Ogbe-Ijoh people with development.

We are, indeed, disappointed by the administration of Hon. Taiye Tuoyo who has shown incompetence with an eye-lip service of ethnic undertone. It is disheartening to say that, Hon. Taiye Tuoyo Duke has not constructed a building not to talk of renovating the old structures in our council’s headquarter [Ogbe-Ijoh]. Hence, we call on  Governor Okowa to caution his boy because we have run out of patience. 

Also, very appalling to note, that aside the concrete jetty, this is the only wooden jetty that is used by residents and council staff that was destroyed by wind early this year, yet Hon Taiye Tuoyo Duke feel unconcerned because it is not his Itsekiri Community.

It is therefore critical clear that Hon. Taiye Tuoyo Duke is a tribal bigot and, we will not seat and allow him to destroy our Community. 

So, we give Hon Taiye two weeks ultimatum to renovate the jetty or face mass protest from Ijaw youths.
