In its bid to contribute towards the growth and development of riverine education in Delta State and around the Niger Delta region, the John Dekawei Foundation (JDF) on Wednesday donated white writing boards, packets of markers and whipers to Okerenkoko Community Primary School in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The idea to assist the ancient primary school was conceived recently when founder and Chairman of the John Dekawei Foundation (JDF), Amb. John Dekawei visited his hometown, Okerenkoko and was briefed by a corper deployed to the primary school on the deplorable state of the boards and the urgent need to do something about the situation.

However, Dekawei stated that he was touched to have seen the state of things rocking the primary school hence the foundation quickly responded to the call to do something about the situation.

He continued that while perusing his early educational career, he attended the Okerenkoko Primary School, stressing that the primary school was his very educational foundation that brought him to limelight, noting that he will do everything within his powers to contribute to its educational development.

The John Dekawei Foundation was represented by Comr. John Gbozimor and Mss Progress Preboye who handed over the items to the Okerenkoko Primary School authority.

Responding on behalf of the Okerenkoko Primary School, Mr. Ezemede Daniel, Headmaster of the school had appreciated the John Dekawei Foundation and the chairman himself, describing the gesture as a rare one.

Shortly after receiving the items, Mr. Ezemede particularly prayed to the lord almighty to elevate and grant Dekawei and officials of the foundation their heart desires.

The Headmaster noted that a huge impediment in their quest to give the pupils a quality education has been lifted off their shoulders, adding that the school will continue to owe John Dekawei Foundation in high esteem.

Nevertheless, The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report that cash worthing hundreds of thousand naira was splashed to purchase the white boards, packets of markers and whipers for the school.

It would be recalled that this is not the first time that the foundation is embarking on such a kind gesture as it has over the years assisted the needy in the society across Nigeria, rendering assistants to farmers, payment of schools fees to pupils and students, payment of medical bills and what have you.

Meanwhile, when The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide visited the Okerenkoko secondary school, it was learnt that the boards in the secondary school are also in bad conditions as the school authority also appeal to the Delta State Government, John Dekawei Foundation, other Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) as well as prominent individuals in the community to come to their rescue with same boards.
