Jubilation in Delta as Governor Okowa commissions legacy projects

There was an unprecedented jubilation in Delta State yesterday following the commissioning of legacy projects in Adonishaka/Ogbeuzu, Akoku-Uno, Umuosele (Obi-Iloh) Umueziogoli and Umutu communities in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State.

Representing the Delta State Governor His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the commisioner for Oil and Gas, Delta State, Prince Emman Ambgaduba had in his speech during the commissioning of the legacy projects jointly embarked on by PLATFORM/NEWCORSS companies to the aforementioned host communities noted that the Delta State Government is happy with the development in the area.

Prince Ambgaduba has hailed the companies for living up to the expectations of the people, stressing posterity and history will judge them right.

While lauding PLATFORM/NEWCORSS for their developmental strides in the area, the commisioner had also called for more scholarship to indigenes of the area, more empowerment and more projects to be executed in the area.

Meanwhile, Prince Ambgaduba had also charged members of the communities to shun all acts of violence that is capable of causing breach of peace in the area, stressing that peace brings development while violence brings underdevelopment.

In his words: ” Shun acts of violence, kidnapping and unnecessary demands from oil companies to ensure proper and reasonable development in your communities”.

Speaking further, the Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas had called on host communities and multinational oil companies operating in the state to always channel their grievances to the office of the honourable commissioner, oil and gas for government intervention whenever the need arises.

“Do not take the laws into your hands, we must be seen doing the right thing at any point in time” Prince Ambgaduba warned.

Some of the projects commissioned include bridge project, classroom blocks, ICT Center among others.

The event was well graced by Government functionaries, indigenes and chieftains from the companies. Prominent among them were MD/CEO PLATFORM PETROLEUM LTD Engr. Osa Owiedolor; Rep of MD NEWCORSS PETROLEUM LTD, Mr Anthony Amajoyi and Rep of DPR, Mustapha Hashin among others too numerous to mention.
