The president general Egbema Brotherhood, Alaowei Promise Lawuru has advised president Muhammadu Buhari to work with High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo for what he described as sustainable peace in the Niger Delta.
Lawuru made the call yesterday via a statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.
The Egbema president general had had particularly described Tompolo as a man that represents peace, stressing that president Buhari should stop listening to alleged blackmailers of Tompolo.
In his words: “The need to work hand to hand with Tompolo is very necessary that is if not compulsory..since the inception of democracy all the past government have been working with Tompolo to maintain peace and order in Niger Delta Region.
“I call on Buhari to stop listening to lies from appointment seekers that are blackmailing Tompolo.
“If you want to know who Tompolo really is please work with him and you will see that all he represents is peace and justice.
“Associating Tompolo with militancy in the Niger Delta is the highest and most big and shameful fallacy in the whole universe.
“If not incompetence on the side of the security operatives that are chasing Tompolo here and there, they should have known the visible truth and have the accurate details on the happenings in the Niger Delta creeks that Tompolo is innocent but a peace maker.
“For the interest of peace and true statesmanship i urge president Buhari to stop listening to lies and let Tompolo be and enjoy his fundamental human right as a citizen wish includes the right to own properties and same time have the equal rights to sell if he want to like every other Nigerians.
“For the sake of clarification i take responsibility of all the words and sentences used in the above pages.” Promise Lawuru asserted.
