Lockdown: Asupa Roll Out Food Items To Burutu North Constituents – The Liberator

As the lockdown continues in Delta State, the member representing Burutu North constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Asupa Peter Forteta has put smiles on the faces of constituents by doling out food items as a palliative measure to cushion the effect of the lockdown.

Hon. Asupa Forteta who is the chairman house committee on security, Delta State maintained that he will continue to assist his people whenever the need arises.

The food items where shared to the six wards that constitutes Burutu North, his mandate area he is representing in the state house of Assembly.

Meanwhile, shortly after the distribution of the food items to representatives of the wards at Giwamu in Delta State, Hon. Forteta said as part of his oversight function, he will continue to rise for his people whenever the need arises.
Some of the items distributed yesterday by Hon. Forteta include bags of rice, garri and kegs of groundnut oil.
In his words while addressing the press: “It is my mandate to ensure that i assist my people in this trying time, the lockdown is not meant to punish anyone, i am still observing the situation, if the need arises, i will replicate this gesture”.
The house committee chairman on security, Forteta stated that as a leader in any capacity, it is good to set good example of leadership, stressing that meeting the needs of the people at this trying times remains one of the most important thing to do.
Meanwhile, he had called on the people of Burutu North to remain calm as it will soon be a thing of the past, stating that everyone should adhere to the precautionary measures put in place by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to curtail spread of the virus.
Forteta had called on the constituents to obey the lockdown order of the government, maintaining that Governor Okowa is working hard with relevant stakeholders to nip the ravaging menace on the bud.
Earlier, Asupa noted that the food items should not be shared among party line, adding that he is representing everyone in the constituency.
Hon. Forteta was flanked by other political leaders in the Local Government, some of which include Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, the Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Chief Hon. Combolus Ekisah, Vice Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, Hon Prince Sunny Perekeme, Secretary to Burutu Council, Hon. Ebike Oromoni, PDP Chairman, Burutu Local Government Council, Mr. Kofi Amasuomo, SSA to the State Governor on Trade & Investment, Chief Hon. Francis Boumiebi, SSA to the Governor on Political Matters, Sir Ignatius Ziakegha with others too numerous to mention.
