Looming Shutdown: Gbaramatu Youths Issue 21 Days Ultimatum To NPDC, Neconde, White-Dove

Apex youth body in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State operating under the aegis of Gbaramatu Youths Council have issued a 21 days ultimatum to the managements of Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), NECONDE and White-Dove Limited on the alleged ground of not carrying the youth body along  in their operations in  the Kingdom over the years. 

The Gbaramatu Youths Council noted that they cannot continue to remain mute as critical stakeholders in the affairs of the kingdom, stressing that the 21 days ultimatum should not be taken for granted. 

This was contained in a letter signed by the President of Gbaramatu Youths Council (GYC) Comr. Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide, adding that copies of the letter have been forwarded to the aforementioned companies. 

Speaking further, President Ebikeme had vowed that the proposed peaceful protest will take place if the said companies refuses to address the issue above before the expiration of the 21 days ultimatum, vowing that the peaceful protest will cause total shutdown of the companies operations in the area. 

The statement reads below:

NOTICE OF TWENTY ONE DAYS (21) ULTIMATUM TO NPDC, NECONDE AND WHITE-DOVE LTD AS A RESULT OF THE INCONCLUSIVE NEGOTIATION

The Above Subject Matter Refer.

The Leadership of Gbaramatu Youth’s Council as critical stakeholders in the affairs of Gbaramatu Kingdom, wish to appreciate the management of your company for making it possible for the long awaited round table discussion. Council also wish to appreciate all representatives from your end who actively took part in the negotiation process.

The resolve of Council after due consultation with critical stakeholders in the kingdom was premised on the two inconclusive meetings that was held on the March 29th and April 6th 2022 with your management.

And it is the resolution of Council that, twenty-one(21) days ultimatum of peaceful protest be given to you starting from the date of receiving this letter and the said proposed peaceful demonstration will cause a total shutdown of your operations, men and women will take over your platforms of operation until our demands are taken into consideration.
