Mama Akenkide, aged 83 journey’s home to Ofonibenyan for burial on Friday

The remains of late Mama Tumama Tamigbe Akenkide will be laid to rest on Friday the 29th of March 2019 at her hometown Ofonibenyan (Okrika) community in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

This was made known to The Liberator Newspaper by Mr. Francis Tamigbe, Divisional Fire Officer, DFO, Warri Fire Station.

However, while inviting members of the general public to grace the burial ceremony of his late mother, Mr. Francis had particularly called on Niger Delta activists to register their presence during the ceremony billed to commence on Friday this week.

It would be recalled that the burial ceremony will be done in both day and night beginning from on Friday till dawn.

Meanwhile, there are strong indications that Niger Delta rights activists are gearing up to pay the last honour to late mama Tamigbe Akenkide. Some of the comrades include Comr. Austin Ozobo, national president Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI; Amb. Arerebo Yerinmene P. Salaco Jnr, national coordinator, Izanzan Intellectual Camp; Comr. Ebolo Sam, former speaker, College of Education, Warri, Delta State; Comr. Miens Anthony Demebide among many other comrades that have indicated interest to grace the occasion.

Meanwhile, it was further learnt that an Ijaw musical icon, Chief Joseph Ekeremieye, also known as the young paddle of Niger Delta will be thrilling the audience on Friday night live at Ofonibenyan.

Nevertheless, Mr. Francis had noted that all arrangements had been concluded to host the general public and the comrade family.

Speaking on behalf of the rights activists, Comr. Ozobo had particularly described Mr. Francis as a good man that needed to be honoured, stressing that the comrades will be live at Ofonibenyan to cheer up Francis as he joins other family members to give their mother a befitting burial.
