•Says Okowa must be returned
A group operating under the auspices of Ijaw Ex- councillors Forum in Delta State has called on the Itsekiris in Warri South West Local Government Area to wholeheartedly embrace Mr. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Warri earlier today by the national chairman of the group, Hon. Moses Douglas, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.
In defending Guwor’s candidature, Hon. Moses had described the Warri South West PDP, Delta State House of Assembly candidate as a man that will foster peace and more unity among the Ijaws and Itsekiris in the constituency when elected come Saturday.
He had further noted that the Ijaws of Warri South West had always supported the political quest of the Itsekiris over the years, noting that the Ijaws supported Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, former governor of the state throughout his eight years tenure as governor of the state.
In his words on Guwor: “Ijaws have supported the Itsekiris in every contestable positions since 1999 including the former governor Dr Uduaghan. So this time we plead that they do for us the Ijaws in the person of Emomotimi Guwor, a young man who is conscious of our unity, diversity and very conversant with beneficial projects for our people. Hon Douglas believe that Emomotimi candidature epitomizes unity, peace and progress. So please support the Ijaw people this time, vote Emomotimi, vote PDP all the way”. Moses stated
However, the Ijaw Ex-councillors Forum had further called on its members to mobilize its massive followers to vote Okowa on Saturday as governor and Emomotimi Dennis Guwor for house of assembly.
It would be recalled that Hon. Moses Douglas is the acting chairman and one of the initiators of the Delta Ijaw Ex-Councillors Forum in the State.
The statement had further enjoined aggrieved members of the forum to have a rethink and vote Okowa/Otuaro again for continuity of the good works they have started across Delta state and the riverine Ijaw communities.
In his words: “The Okowa led administration in Delta State has done very well for the Ijaw people , therefore, there is need for everyone of us as Ijaw people to commit ourselves for the re-election bid of Okowa and Guwor for Warri South West, Delta State House of Assembly.
