A founding member of Meinbutu, a former armed carrying organisation who is also regarded as the national leader of the group, Chief Ebis Moni has lauded the generalissimo of Niger Delta struggle, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo on his stance to see a crime free Niger Delta region.

Leader Ebis Moni gave the commendation via a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Warri yesterday, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

The Meinbutu national leader asserted that the commendation on Tompolo has become necessary following the years of selfless sacrifices he has been doing for Niger Deltans and the Ijaw nation in particular.

However, Chief Ebis Moni, a former Chairman of Meinbutu noted that if not for Tompolo, most Ijaw people can’t dare to go to their communities via the waterways, stressing that he is doing a great job in fighting against sea piracy and other hoodlums in the Delta and Niger Delta waterways.

Ebis Moni said some times, he looks and sees Tompolo as not just a human but an angel in human form sent by God to deliver the Ijaw people and Niger Deltans.

Nevertheless, Chief Ebis Moni asserted that while the war against piracy and criminal activities around the Warri South West, Warri North, Edo State waterways is recording huge success, the waterways of Burutu Local Government Area still witnesses pockets of insecurity precipitated by hoodlums occasionally.

Meanwhile, Moni had particularly called on all well meaning Ijaw sons and daughters to rally round  Tompolo to ensure that pirates and other forms of criminal elements are eradicated to the lowest level.

He continued that his prayers will continue to be with Tompolo for his struggle for a better Ijaw nation and Niger Delta region is genuine, stressing that he is looking for a better collaboration with Tompolo in his stance for Ijaw progress
