One of the founding fathers of the Ijaw and Niger Delta struggle for emancipation, Chief Comr. Ebis Moni, leader of Meinbutu has spoken in favour of the region by urging president Muhammadu Buhari to urgently constitute a substantive board for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide can report.
The Meinbutu leader made the call in Warri yesterday while addressing the press on the matter, stressing that the delay in constituting a substantive board for the Niger Delta Development Commission is robbing people of the region a proper development from the NDDC.
Leader Ebis Moni had admonished president Muhammadu Buhari not to take the one month ultimatum issued to the Federal Government of Nigeria for granted by the revered president of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, stressing that Meinbutu and the entire Ijaw nation is in total support of the looming protest.
The revered Niger Delta leader had wondered on why it is difficult for the federal government of Nigeria to constitute a substantive board for the NDDC despite series of calls to constitute a substantive board, describing the development as not only fraudulent but strange, disturbing and a great disservice to the region.
Speaking further, Ebis Moni had questioned the sincerity of the forensic audit, adding that the said audit is becoming another scam to people of the region, maintaining that the entire region can’t be held ramson because of an endless and questionable forensic audit.
He wondered that everything on earth has an expiring date, fuming that the case of NDDC forensic audit is becoming an exception from the foregoing.
Chief Ebis Moni while speaking on his journey into the Niger Delta struggle which also contributed to the establishment of the NDDC and other agencies in the Niger Delta, stressed that in his days back then, they were on the forefront of the struggle but leaders like Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, Ijaw National Leader and others spoke with them to calm down as the NDDC and other parastatals have been created to take care of such persons that have made sacrifices to keep the region peaceful by developing the region as well.
Ebis Moni stated that it is wrong for the Federal Government of Nigeria to be deliberately provoking Niger Deltans by refusing to constitute a substantive board for the NDDC, adding that even patience has its expiring limit.
