The leadership of vocal Ijaw rights group, the  Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI) has described as shameful and bigotry statement credited to the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party PDP Barr. Kingsley Esiso on the governorship zoning in the state.

According to  press release signed by the group’s national president Comr. Austin Ozobo and obtained by The Liberator Newspaper on Thursday, they said Esiso should be relieved of his position as Chairman.

Esiso was alleged to have made public statement saying  that it is the turn of the Urhobo ethnic nationality to produce the next governor of the state in line with the zoning arrangement on senatorial districts bases.

Ozobo however called  on Gov Okowa and stakeholders of the party to immediately relieve the party chairman of his position for displaying gross ignorance and ineptitude on the dynamics of Delta State politics.

The former House of Assembly aspirant noted that it is very shameful for a party chairman who is suppose to be an unbiased arbiter turning  himself into a spokes person for the Urhobo ehtnic group.

He disclosed that  for disgracefully  allowing himself to be beclouded by ethnic sentiments over issue as sensitive as the position of the governor of a state, Esiso has set a bad precedent that must be corrected immediately.

He stressed that Esisio lacked power to decide or determined which senatorial district would produce the next governor in the state and warned that if his  unguided and uninformed activities are not checked, it may wreck PDP boat in the state.

“His unguided and mischievous uttrances are capable of causing avoidable war in the party and this will not help to transform and unify the party in the state”

The activist said whether it’s the turn of the  Urhobo or any other ethnic group, it is not the duty of Esiso to say it because of the position he occupies.
