Mulade to splash 2.2 milion naira on Ijaw/Itsekiri peace, unity cup as draws holds Nov. 7

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity cup popularly known as Sheriff Mulade peace and unity cup has announced that the draw for the much anticipated football tournament will hold on November 7th 2019.

According to information released by the Media and Publicity Committee Chairman Azuka Chiemeka, the exercise which will take place at Ugborodo community beginning from 9am in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State will witness the screening of players registered for the tournament, and draws for match fixtures for the 16 Communities/Teams that have duly registered for the tournament.

Chiemeka also disclose that the screening exercise is the most crucial aspect of the football fiesta, saying that any Team/Community that fails to participate in the screening risk being disqualified, while every registered Team or Community must appear with all its Players, Coach and Technical Team for the screening on the stated date.

The statement named the following communities: Ogidigben, Ijaghala, Madangho, Ugbegungun, Bateren, Agogboro, Ajudaibo, Ugborodo as participating communities from the Itsekiri ethnic nationality.

While Okerenkoko Kokodiagbene, Oporoza, Kunukunuama, Teibejor, Benekrukru, Opuedebubor, Kurutie communities will represent the Ijaws.

The LOC also said that football scouts will be on ground to discover and select talented players for the Delta State League as well as for the Nigeria Premier League.

It further congratulates all teams ahead of the 2019 edition of the peace and unity football cup, which is expected to be a successful tournament.

The man behind the football competition Amb. Sheriff Mulade is giving up a whooping N2.2m for grab in this year’s edition as the winning team of the tournament will smile home with N1m while the second and third runners -up will pocket N700,000 and N500,000 respectively, in addition to other consolation prizes.
