…Vows to cripple economy if FG, Akpabio rufuses to heed Tompolo’s ultimatum

The leadership of Egbesu generals (EG) have called for an emergency meeting of its members in the Niger Delta region  to deliberate on the 7 days ultimatum given to the federal government over failure to constitute governing board for the Niger Delta Development Commission  NDDC.

According to the notice of meeting sighted by The Liberator Newspapers on Tuesday, the meeting will hold on Thursday June 3rd in Ondo State.

Former freedom fighter High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, Alias Tompolo had on Sunday issued a seven day ultimatum to the Muhammadu Buhari led federal government to constitute a substantive governing board  for the (NDDC) or the region will be shutdown.

The Egbusu generals under the leadership of  Gen. Freedom Adowei noted that the group can no longer condone the  excesses of the federal government and the manner in which the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Sen. Godswill Akpabio is running the affairs of the agency.

The statement reads partly “It is also my resolve that, each Egbesu general should make appearance with two of their boys as representatives in the already scheduled emergency meeting billed to hold on the 3rd day of June 2021 at Ondo State.”

“The scheduled meeting was premised on the issued 7-days ultimatum for Federal Government and Minister Akpabio to constitute the substantive board of NDDC. The so called forensic audit not only appear as endless exercise but a money syphoning vehicle for aspiring politicians come 2023 election, enough is enough for using Niger Delta region as money farm to politic to our disadvantage.”

“It will interest the public to note that the agenda for the (Egbesu generals call to assemble) meeting go beyond shutting down Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC), the position of the Ijaw Nation as regard the fate of the already crippled country called Nigeria will be made known to the world on the expiration of the 7-days ultimatum, even the IOC’s will not be spared this time around.”

 “This is the moment the Egbesu generals has been waiting for, in order to declare war on the waterway so as to have territorial control of our God given natural resources following the continuous statutory marginalisation of the Niger Delta region. While the  Egbesu generals await the last order of Tompolo, it is important we make it clear  to the world that the Ijaw Nation will no longer undergo both constitutional and unconditional slavery in the hand of this Islamised country”. He said
