A renowned Niger Delta Youth group under the aegis of Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC) has carpeted the Arewa Youth Assembly on their comment against Tompolo, stressing that Tompolo deserved to be given more than a pipeline surveillance contract in Nigeria as a reward for the many sacrifices he is making in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the duo of Comr. Bene Youkore Mamamu, popularly known as young Chief, President of the Niger Delta Youth Council and Comr. Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, secretary of the group, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide.

The group while urging the Federal Government of Nigeria to completely ignore the Arewa Youth Assembly on their alleged misdirected speech on Tompolo has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to perfect all deals concerning the Pipeline Surveillance Contract with Tompolo.

However, the Niger Delta renowned group had called on the Arewa Youth Assembly to render unreserved apology to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo and the Niger Delta people, adding that their act could be best described as the highest height of disrespect on their leader.

According to the Niger Delta Youth Council, they noted that over the years, Tompolo has spent his own personal resources in maintaining peace across the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large, adding that it will be unfair for people to come on air to go against him, warning that such reckless and divisive statements will no longer be condoned.

They continued that anyone that is against Tompolo is not only against Ijaw nation but also the Niger Delta region and the progress of Nigeria at large, noting that Tompolo remains the only man suitable for the job.

Nevertheless, the duo of Mamamu Bene Youkore and Onitsha Ebikeme asserted that Tompolo whom they described as the generalissimo of the Niger Delta struggle has over the years shown capacity, hence it will only be proper to give him the pipeline surveillance contract.

Meanwhile, NDYC had cautioned the Arewa Youth Assembly and other youth groups in Nigeria to be careful ahead of 2023, stressing that youths should be productive and preach unity in Nigeria than making divisive statements.
