Fish farmers in Ogbe Ijoh , Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State have cried out for help following a recent flood disaster that ravaged the farms resulting in huge economic loss.

Chairman of Marvken multipurpose cooperative society, Amb Edwin Aken disclosed that over 50,000 fishes were lost when the the fish farms were submerged with flood.
Aken lamented that the loss has put members of the cooperative in trauma as the fish farms remained their source of livelihood and also considering that they borrowed their capitals from cooperatives and other sources to invest on the business.

He noted that the fish farmers had spent so much money to dig punds, buy fingerlings, feed the fishes, and also for maintenance, security, payment of workers, ”stress are all turned to wasted efforts” he regretted.

He however called on the state governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and their constituency representatives, sen. James manager, Hon. Thomas Ireyitomi and Hon. Emomotimi Guwor as well as other highly spirited individuals and groups to come to their aid.
