Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom Mornarch celebrates coronation anniversary, confers chieftaincy titles, preaches peace

As part of events marking the 4th coronation anniversary of His Royal Majesty, King Couple Oromoni, Mobene III, Ama-Okosu, the paramount ruler of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, yesterday 21st of September 2019 conferred chieftaincy titles to deserving sons and daughters of the kingdom and across the Niger Delta region.

In his welcome address, King Couple Oromoni speaking among other issues particularly commended the Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi A. Okowa and his Deputy, Barr. (Dcn) Kingsley B. Otuaro for their role in restoring peace among the waring communities in Udu and Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The revered traditional ruler also lauded the cooperation of the Nigeria Army in the fragile peace witnessed in the Area, stressing that Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom under his watch will continue to prioritize peace in all its dealings, adding that a stronger Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom is in the making.

“l want to specially thank Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, his Deputy Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen.Tukur Buratai, the GOC 6 Division of Nigerian Army PortHarcourt, Rivers State, Maj. Gen.Jamil Sarham, the Commanding Officer 3 Battalion, Nigerian Army Effurun Barracks Warri and the Commissioner of Police, Delta State for their vital roles in achieving peace in Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom and its environs. We don’t want to relent in our effort in persuading the Government to do more in other for us to have a lasting peace, by way of looking critically about the boundaries of both communities to enable us live in harmony as it was in the time past”. King Couple stated.

Describing the people of Ogbe-Ijoh as wonderful people, King Oromoni stated that he will continue to explore all available means in ensuring that unity reigns among his people uninterruptedly.
Mobene III had also charged the Delta State Governor to urgently work out modalities of opening the access road that link Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja in Udu and Warri South West Local Government Areas of Delta State.

He had therefore, called for an end to the frosty relationship among the once peaceful communities, stating that peaceful coexistence among the estranged communities will do both parties lots of good and more development will be attracted to the area.

Nevertheless, The Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom had charged the newly conferred chiefs to see their conferement as a call to duty, noting that the chiefs must join hands with others in the traditional institution in making the kingdom more great, revealing that from time to time, important tasks will be assigned to the various chiefs for the advancement of the ancient and revered kingdom in Ijawland.
However, the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, representing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, assured the people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom on the state government’s readiness to partner with the kingdom for development, noting that the governor is working out modalities to bring permanent peace to the waring communities in the area.
Otuaro while urging the people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom to accord the needed respect to the traditional institution in the kingdom also tasked the traditional ruler to carry everyone along, noting that mutual respect is ideal for the growth and development of society.
Some of the new chiefs include Chief Peter Ikiyegha; Chief Felix Ebah; Chief Mrs. Vero Emmanuel; Chief Seibi Ebimi-ere; Chief Larrison Sanzu Ayason; Chief David Omare; Chief Smart Tekedor, Chief Baotu Bello, Chief Sylvester Tebedia among others.
It would be recalled that King Couple Oromoni is the 12th Monarch of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom that was coronated to rule over his people on October 2015 by the people of Ogbe-Ijoh from the Perebiri rulling house as Mobene III.
Meanwhile, traditional rulers from far and near thronged the royal mansion of the Ogbe-Ijoh revered traditional ruler’s spacious palace, top Government functionaries, Chiefs from different kingdoms, youth leaders, party faithfuls, women groups amongs others too numerous to mention

were on ground to grace the occasion.
