Congratulates new  IYC national Exco

Engr. Don Dickson Ogugu, former Niger Delta freedom fighter and business tycoon from Diebiri Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State has commended high Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo and Oporoza Community, traditional  headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom for successfully hosting one of the most peaceful election in the history of Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide. 

Engr. Ogugu particularly described Tompolo’s intervention on the IYC saga and the subsequent hosting of the election in Oporoza as a commendable feat, stressing that he has once again proven to be a father in the Ijaw struggle for liberation in recent times. 

Engr Don stated that the Ijaw Youth Council has over time witnessed lots of imbroglio in council arising from previous elections. 

He said the national elections conducted at Ogulagha community, traditional headquarters of Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State in 2007 and that of Arogbo, Ondo State  in 2004 where also very peaceful.

Don maintained that the just conducted IYC national election in Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom will continue to go down well in history as one of the most peaceful election so far in council since the Kaiama declaration in 1998.

Speaking further, the Diebiri born business tycoon had lauded the security efforts made by Chief Evangelist Boro Opudu, chairman Delta State  Waterways/ Land Security Committee; Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, House of Representatives; Hon. Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, member representing Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State House of Assembly, Sir Tare Pondi, popularly known as Dibia and  Niger Delta king of the youths, Chief Ikeremor and self styled Gen. Freedom Adowei and others who worked hard for the peaceful nature of the entire exercise. 

Engr Ogugu made this known to The Liberator Newspaper in an exclusive chat yesterday in Warri.

The Diebiri Young leader had also congratulated Hon Frank pukon for making the Diebiri people proud on his victory as Secretary General IYC worldwide and newly elected Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide officials for the victories recorded during the July 19th election at Oporoza. 

He had particularly charged them to quickly swinge into action by addressing the multiple issues bedeviling the Ijaw nation at large in the Niger Delta. 

Ogugu had tasked the Comr. Peter Timothy Igbifa’s led new IYC Exco to preach love and unity among Ijaw sons and daughters by firstly working together with all his executive members. 

The Niger Delta youth leader noted that a lot of sacrifices were made by prominent Ijaw leaders and her youths to keep the IYC  united, hence he admonished President Peter Timothy to ensure that he brings more glory to Ijaw nation by not disappointing them with transformative leadership, adding that the new Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide leadership must urgently make peace with anyone that is aggrieved. 

Ogugu Lauds Bekewei Ajuwa Led Eleco

Meanwhile, the business tycoon had also lauded the Barr. Bekewei Ajuwa led 2020 Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide  Electoral Committee for conducting a free, fair and credible election. 

Ogugu described the election as one of the most peaceful and credible elections conducted so far in the history of IYC, stressing that the entire Ijaw nation is proud of Barr. Bekewei.

The youth leader also lauded the duo of Barr. Eric Omare and Barr Roland Oweilaemi for their sacrifices in keeping council united with members of their teams.
