Niger Delta former freedom fighter and business mogul Engr Don Dickson Ogugu has hailed the Wednesday court ruling that granted freedom to the embattled Niger Delta emacipator High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a. Tompolo.

Ogugu  through a  press statement issued to Newsmen in Warri and obtained by the Liberator Newspaper on Thursday said the pronouncement by the court has clearly shown that no force can forever suppress the  truth.

The business tycoon  who hails from, Diebiri, Isaba and Ogbe-Ijoh Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State stated that  Tompolo is a man of the people whose name has been engraved in the history book of the Niger Delta  feedom struggle.

He said Tompolo is a man who detest  injustice and stood for truth, a leader  whose priority is the welfare of his people and  never betrayed them despite the stiff opposition he faced in the hands of forces who never meant well for the Ijaws and the entire Niger Delta region.

Don noted that this recent  freedom regained by Tompolo should be celebrated by the entire Ijaw nation, Niger Deltans and indeed all men of Goodwill who are happy with the relative peace and tranquility in the Niger Delta.

He described Tompolo as fearless, doged  and a true freedom fighter who deserves to be happy and free having done so much for the happiness of his people.

He said “We receive the news of the judgement of the high court with joy and hope that very soon our leader will be united again with his family and people.”

“For us in the Niger Delta, this new development has signalled a new dawn in our quest for real change and development that is sustainable.”

OGUGU urged his Leader in the spirit of sportsmanship  to forgive all those who are behind his current challenges  and join hand with the government  to move the country forward.

Recall that there was julbilation in the entire Niger Delta region on Wednesday following  a judgement by a Federal high court in  Lagos quashing all 40 count charges slammed on Tompolo and others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
DON stressed that Hon Justice Abrahim Buba’s Judgment was granted by God, says it is divine and  may almighty God continue to guide and give him more wisdom on his field as a Judge to give freedom for the speechless and powerless innocent citizens.
DON  also pray that may the GREAT ANCESTORS of JUSTICE AND PEACE in IJAW NATION and Niger Delta at large protect Ijaw  frontline leaders and the young ones.
