Ojobo Agog As Ward 5 PDP Storm Community To Campaign, Muster Support For Angele, Brisibe, Ekereke

There was massive turnout by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at oil rich Ojobo community in Oporomo Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State earlier today as the ward campaign team headed by Hon. Fred Brisibe and other leaders of the party stormed the community to kick start its ward campaign. The Liberator Newspapers can report.

During the campaign at the Ojobo community town hall, Hon. Fred Brisibe, PDP Campaign Coordinator of the ward had briefed the mammoth supporters of the party on the need to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come March 6th 2021. 

He narrated that the campaign team was endorsed and sent by the highest echelon of PDP leadership of the ward to muster support for the party ahead of the forthcoming council election, stressing that the instruction was that no stone should be left unturned. 

Some of such leaders include Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin, member representing Burutu South, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Solomon Funkekeme, Senior Political Adviser to Governor Okowa, Hon. Tamarautare Brisibe, former Chief of Staff to the Delta State Government with the host of other leaders. 

The ward coordinator, Hon. Fred Brisibe particularly charged the PDP supporters to turn out in their numbers come March 6th 2021 to vote for Hon. Godknows Angele as Chairman,  Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State to consolidate on his developmental strides across the council, stressing that his re-election will make more sense as Angele has promised to concentrate more on human capital development. 

Speaking further, Hon. Fred also urged electorates of the wards to vote their children, the duo of Hon. Brisibe Akpos, ward 8 and Comr. Odafe Ekereke for ward 9, adding that sending the duo to the Burutu Local Government Legislative House is a collective responsibility. 

On his part, Hon. Tiko Young, PDP Chairman of Ojobo ward had appreciated the party supporters for their massive turnout, stressing that the crowd is overwhelming, adding that he is surprised owing to the fact that the party did not even pass proper information.

He reiterated that Ojobo has always been a PDP stronghold and would continue to remain so, stressing that there is no difference between PDP and Ojobo as the two has become one. 

Hon. Young maintained that the massive turnout of the supporters is an eloquent testimony to show that beyond PDP, there is no other party. 

In his words: “Ojobo has no other party, you are already there, after your inauguration as councillors, you have to address the daunting challenges of the Ojobo people. You have to carry everyone along. Come March 6th Saturday 2021, we as Ojobo people have to come out In our large numbers to vote Angele and our children here.”

In their reactions, Hon. Brisibe Akpos, PDP standard flag bearer of  ward 8 and Comr. Odafe Ekereke, PDP standard flag bearer of  ward 9 had all assured the Ojobo people by delivering excellent leadership if elected. 

They maintained that they will not only raise the multifaceted issues bedeviling Ojobo people in the legislative chamber but will also work with critical stakeholders in the polity to ensure that what is due the people is given to them, adding that they are ready to put smiles on the faces of the people in their own little way. 

“If elected, I will not dissapoint you people, I am totally ready for you people. I know the stuff I am made of, I will ensure that I take care of my people to the best of my abilities within my limit”. Comr. Odafe

Just like my first tenure, I will ensure that I improve more than the first tenure by making sure that everyone is carried along. Expect a better me.” Hon Brisibe 

However, the duo of Mrs Frendom Rex and Mr. Alakpabiri Yoyokeme who spoke on behalf of the women and men at the campaign had all declared their supports for the PDP come March 6th 2021, appealing that if elected, Hon. Godknows Angele should look into their issues with a view of empowering them to enable them have a sense of belonging. 

Nevertheless, speaking on behalf of the youths at the gathering, Comr. Deme Clark Zuokumor had urged Ojobo politicians and the incoming councillors to prioritise the development of the community by meeting critical stakeholders including the council Chairman to bring the dividends of democracy to the people. 

It would be recalled that by federal arrangement, Ojobo is ward 5 but under the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) arrangement it has ward 8 and 9.

Meanwhile, Comr.  Fanti Covenant, light committee chairman of Ojobo had assured the PDP leaders that he will mobilise his team to ensure that all candidates of the party wins their various positions. 

Beyond Hon. Fred Brisibe, Coordinator of the ward campaign team and Hon. Tiko Young, PDP Chairman of the ward, other members of the ward campaign team and critical stakeholders of the party in the ward where present for the campaign.
