OKYC President Akuna Mourns Chief Mamamu, Says A Scholar Is Gone

President general of Ogulagha Kingdom Youth Council OKYC) in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Timiadi Justice Akuna have mourned over the demise of late Chief Dr. S. Y. Mamamu. 

President Akuna issued the condolence message to newsmen in Warri earlier today via a statement he personally signed, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide. 

The OKYC President had particularly stated that Ijaw nation have truly lost a scholar, stressing that a scholar is gone forever. 

In his words: “I on behalf of myself, family and the entire youths of Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State condoles with the family of Chief Mamamu and the entire people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State over the demise of a rare leader. 

“Chief Mamamu until his death was an elder statesman with many positive colours and a rare leader in Ijaw and Niger Delta at large, i receive the news of his death as a rude shock. 

“We are losing him at a time his wealth of experience is needed the most as an Ijaw people.

“May the Lord Almighty grant the family of Chief Mamamu and the entire people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss” Comr.  Justice Timiadi Akuna stated.
