OML 42: Kusimi Writes Npdc/Neconde For Recognition As Host Community In Delta
An opinion leader in Kusimi Community, Mr. Smart Kusimi has written the managements of NECONDE and NPDC, operators of oil facilities in Oml 42, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State to be recognized as a host community in Odidi field.
This was contained in a statement Mr. Kusimi Smart, an opinion leader of Kusimi Community signed and issued to newsmen in Warri, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide yesterday.
Mr. Smart Kusimi had called on NECONDE and NPDC to treat Kusimi Community as host community like others in Odidi field at Oml 42, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, stressing that they can no longer condone the excesses of the said companies towards the community.
Mr. Smart have wondered why Neconde and Npdc will continue to neglect the community despite moves from the community to be recognised and treated as host community.
Some of the demands Smart is making to the companies include electrification/water, peace bonus, G.M.O.U, contract/employment, hospital
community scholarship, sand filling, 30 house unit as well as youth empowerment packages.
He maintained that the companies must begin to think of how to urgently fix the aforementioned necessities in the community, stressing that enough is enough.
The statement further statedthat the continued negligence meted out on the community over the years is something to worry about, adding that the community will no longer keep quiet on the face of such brazen neglect.
Meanwhile, when this reporter put calls across to the officials of NPDC and Neconde, declined to comment on the matter, stressing that the issue have a legal underpinnings.
