Owing to alleged age long manipulative tendencies, the Odidi Youth Council in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State have collectively taken a decision to kick-out the Obijackson Group of Companies, (Comprising Neconde, IMPaC, Nestoil, White Dove, B&G dredging, Hammacorp, EWT, etc) from the Oil Field in OML 42.

The Odidi Youth Council (OYC) made this known  to journalists yesterday in Warri via a statement signed by its leaders and opinion leaders of the community such as Comrade Truston Gbenekama, Youth President, Ebi Nanakumo, Secretary General, Abel Aribogha Vice President, Noah Ibilou  Publicity Secretary.

Other opinion leaders of the community include Chief Dominic Aribogha, Chief Terry Ogisi, Chief John Loukiri, Mr Sailman Osomi, Odidi Rural Chairman, Comrade Faith Mamamu, Mr Kingsley Okrikpa, Elder Sam Duwobowei, Success Egebor, Chairlady Odidi Rural Women, a copy of which was made available to The Liberator Newspaper.

The youths vowed that there will be no compromise if the Obijackson Group of Companies fails to urgently comply with the 14 days ultimatum earlier issued to the company by the OML 42 Joint Host Communities Forum which expired on the 10th of June, 2020.

The statement reiterated that the decision becomes necessary as they have kept quiet for too long in the midst of glaring injustice, stressing that the Obijackson Group of Companies must urgently leave the field for NPDC and its Sub Contractor, Century Energy Systems Limited to take charge of full operations and direct production to TFP line until a reputable and environment friendly and oriented company partner with NPDC to  run the field.

The statement reads in part below:

After a general meeting held in Warri by Odidi Youth Council, the following discussion was taken.

It is  an aberration for youth government to keep quiet while evil strive in our community. The authority confided on us as key stakeholders, we must speak against evil to secure our future.

On this note the youth council want to state unequivocally that the Obijackson group of Companies should comply with the 14 days ultimatum issued by the OML 42 Joint Host Communities Forum which expired on the 10th June, 2020.

That no act of manipulations will stop the actions designed by the Leadership. Obijackson group of companies ( Neconde, IMPaC, Nestoil, White dove, B&G dredging, Hammacorp, EWT, etc) should has matter of urgency leave the field of operations and NPDC and its Sub Contractor, Century Energy Systems Limited to take charge of full operations and direct production to TFP line until a reputable and environment friendly and oriented company partner with NPDC to  run the Field.

The Barging operations from Ashanti Barge and Amazon vessel at Odidi Flowstation is destroying the environment and aquatic lives are seen floating everyday. The silence of the Communities should not be taking for granted, a stitch in time saves nine, Owo Bouafa oooo (We will not accept it) enough is enough. Any act of insubordination, disobedience, manipulative tendency would not stop the actions designed by the Leadership of the OML 42 Joint Host Communities Forum.

The time is now or never, the Die is cast.
